Great mod! Question though: how do I spike a coworker? Cause I'm tired of constantly being the victim, I've come to the point I can barely go 3 or 4 days before they try to bring the girl version back.

Spike Fun doesn't touch on spiking coworkers at all, I'm afraid. DatDude's Office Babes mod (added to the base game now) adds that mechanic, however. You can specify a target for spiking when talking to the coworker, but I think it has to be one of the base game pills (Basic, Show-off, Bimbo, Compliant, etc.)

I love the idea of more normal girls, but sadly in the pack like 90% of them are purple-haired lesbians/feminists, 9% are old washed out women or ugly  and the few that are attractive can't be interacted with. They just take up space instead of being useful. xD

Right now, taking up space is all they're intended to do. Each time you take a drink and wait for one of them to be replaced by a "real" bar girl, you've taken another chance that you'll have a drink spiked, and the alcohol makes it less likely for you to catch it before it happens. It's intended to add a bit more risk to trying to hook up, so you can't easily do it each visit to the bar. (That's why most of them are intended to not be attractive, so you won't want to hook up with them.)

Eventually, I wanted to have some of them involved in drink spikes, and some that you can hook up with to get some practice/experience (such as for my Male Sex Skill mod) prior to hooking up with the real girls. That's a big project all its own, so I'm not sure if or when I'll get to it.

For now, though, there's an option to disable them under game settings. They're Miner (as in Secondary) Bar Girls.

There's also an option to have more show up at The Broken Drum as well, so you can increase your chances of seeing more real bar girls, too.

Thanks for answering! I'm not using Office Babes since it conflicts with one of the mods I'm using (can't remember which, but I do remember it had a warning about OB sadly).

I do have the option to specify target for spiking, but not actually do it, lol and I did buy the spiking drugs and Dumb Bitch from the Office Manager guy.

Office Babes is part of the base game now, as of 0.21.7, so you don't need the mod if you've got the latest version of the game.

It sounds like that's from BR Pills, which is out-of-date, sadly. There are a few people working on a stripped-down version that will help keep Spike Fun running, though.

Jesus. Never seen a game before that changes so much from one release to another and breaks mods left and right. :C Aside from all the other mods that no longer work, BR Pills isn't even that old. xD

thanks for all your help!

When you click the download button, there are three files: The media file, and two versions of the code. The one code file is the previous, most-stable version, and the other is the 0.13.0 experimental version.

I removed all of the previous files to help reduce confusion.

I've tested both version of the mod. Various load orders, and dependencies. Not sure what to do.

Someone on Discord mentioned running into this as well. The (is_breeder:) macro should work, as it's part of the base game, unless you have an older version of XCL from before that was implemented.

Do you have the latest available version of the game with the 0.13 version of Spike Fun?

Game is 0.22
Mod is 0.13.2

Tried with new save file as well, but the same errors occur again after a while. I'm guessing for certain pills?

What should I do about it?

U666 Spike Fun

  • Does not support base game version 0.21.7.2 (requires 0.22 or newer)

You can try it, and see if it works. 😅

I try to stay ahead of the releases, so when I have something that overwrites a base-game passage, I'll use the latest version from the Git as my starting point. Many times that doesn't cause any issues, but, sometimes, the passages have been rewritten for new macros/passages that don't exist in the previous version of the game. It's a bit of a gamble.

Unfortunately, I'm not professional enough to maintain multiple versions of the mod, so it makes thinks a bit awkward between major updates.

I couldn't find version 0.22, but I didn't look at Github. The loader swears a lot that your mod overwrites and it's not clear which mods he needs and which ones he doesn't, just according to the description (more precisely, what the translator told me) I don't quite understand the mechanics of mixing drinks with other people, is there this function or can it only be done in relation to the Main character, if not, it would be fun to add this function because I like to play a male character more, I also don't understand the NPCs in the bar, they just can't talk to them or interact why they ?

Sorry, I didn't know you weren't a native English speaker. I'll try to be more clear.

X-Change Life 0.22+ is the playtester build. People who pay on SubscribeStar get early access, but other developers can pull the source code from Gitgud and build the latest version on their local computer.

Spike Fun 0.13+ only needs:
Drug Framework 2

I think it's the best version to use right now, but should be better when X-Change Life 0.22 is officially released.

I'm not sure what you mean about "mixing drinks with other people." Right now, the mod only involves the player character taking pills. Someone else will probably need to do a mod for giving pills to NPCs (like DatDude's Office Babes).

Here's a quick attempt to translate my reply with ChatGPT:

Извини, я не знал, что ты не носитель английского. Постараюсь выражаться понятнее.

X-Change Life 0.22+ — это тестовая сборка. Люди, которые платят на SubscribeStar, получают к ней ранний доступ, но другие разработчики могут скачать исходный код с Gitgud и собрать последнюю версию у себя на компьютере.

Для Spike Fun 0.13+ требуется только:
Drug Framework 2

you can write in English. I wrote myself a script that does  translate. a translator can insert similar words and the meaning of the phrase may change, I understood, I found the answer to my question, I just thought that there is a function like (DatDude in Office Babes)

Hey there!

Love the mod, but I'm running into a weird bug that I seems to come directly from this mod.

Whenever a guy calls in the evening, the "Don't call again" or "Hang Up" options don't actually end the encounter. It'll have the intended effects, such as him losing attraction, but the prompt for him calling just keeps showing up until you finally accept it.

I know you mentioned in the mod's description that the new patch changed 'npc check guys calling you', so I imagine that's where the problem lies?

I am using the .22 game version (downloaded only a couple days ago), and your 13.3 version.

There are also a scattering of other mods in my load order, but I've never had any issues conflicting with yours in the past and this problem only goes away once Spike Fun is disabled.

Let me know if you need anymore info, since I really do want to use this mod but it makes doing anything in the evening nearly impossible. :P

This has been reported by one person on Discord as well, and I've been completely unable to reproduce it so far. I've asked other modders for help tracking it down, but so far, there's been no luck.

Is there a way for me to narrow it down using any debug tools within the game? Such as seeing what calls and checks are being activated or missed when they're rejected?

I've taken a passing glance at all the modding documentation so I know there's some stuff like that in the game, but don't know how helpful it could be.

Here's a snap of the Twine-Dugger console after refusing a guy. Don't know how useful it is since I don't see any smoking guns, but I also don't know exactly what I'm looking at.

I am mildly curious if it's some lingering issue with my particular installation since you said you couldn't reproduce it, so gonna do a clean install later and try just your mod to see if it happens again. I'm getting my version from Subscribestar but perhaps you're getting yours from GIT?

Yeah, mine is pulled from Git. I know there was, allegedly, an issue with the booty call code that was fixed at one point. Not sure when it was fixed, though... (I thought it was prior to the playtest build.)

I can't say I see anything I really understand in that output. I see "NPC invites himself" a lot in there. Should only be hitting that passage once. No indication of what might be causing a loop.

And I am the third one ;)

XCL 26 June Playtest

SF 0.13.3

Saying "no" or "don't call again" leads to a positive answer like 'you break of things with xy' and the next thing is I am back at the point he is calling me.

npc_select

Where your console read out spews out, it shows that the npc selected when u did all of that was the step sister, so unless theres missing debug code, it means all of that chunk had the step sister selected, I noticed that something in the code for a while now selects the step sister, and whenever that happens strangeness occurs, not sure what does it, but mods seem to lead into random dead ends, and other crap when it happens, although for me at least when it happens is very rare, maybe modders should attempt to do a look up for which npc is selected, and if wrong one for what there doing is selected it has a function call to fix (Clean up the stuff added to the previous npc, then readd whats needed on the new one, doable if you keep a buffer of the being edited npc, then just reload the buffer to the npc that was not ment to be edited)

This issue is super hard to notice but npcs sometimes get random stuff i thought was strange for them to have, when looking through the variable arrays, and realized it was more to do with mods which somehow edited them, however step sis seems to be the one with alot of the mess ups, although I rarely noticed anything game breaking due to this, as the step sis is not used often, however catch code as i stated above is probly best way to clean it.

My 2 cents.

Okay, so I read on Discord that the looping when trying to dump one of your NPC fuckbuddies is a base-game bug that's finally been identified. I'll be trying to keep an eye out for whatever fix gets implemented so that I can make any adjustments Spike Fun may require.

I found a bug in my own remake of the "check if NPC is calling you" code, though I'm still trying to track down an issues with the "Smartie wants a dumb GF" guy to figure out why he doesn't call any more.

Basically, I'm playing Whack-A-Mole with bugs right now.
