Are Mannequins considered to be NPCs?

Started a new player a few weeks ago.

Eventually, I made it to a "third party" player home (Waterview, fwiw) and slept. Was awakened to this rather absurd scene, care of the default 5% chance of an event from mod "SL Dangerous Nights".

This isn't the only time this has happened, or the only player home.  Are mannequins considered some sort of paralyzed NPC?  I mean, I kinda got use to some of the weird moving around they do on occasion, but this really takes the cake.

I set the chance to zero to be sure it won't happen again, just hadn't gotten to it, but still...

Mannequins are just regular npc's. The only thing that prevents them from performing like one is a script. This script disables their ai and forces them in a certain pose. If the script misfires or doens't work this is just another npc with a tree skin.

You can't imagine how I would like to have these things actually able to "perform" would make for a creepy chapter ?

Heh... personally speaking, (a bit too creepy for me) I disagree, but I suppose, based on what the others have said, I suppose it might be possible, of course IFF you could override the t-posing script and add a schlong.
