you can compare the numbers for your self, GPU Z doesnt lie.

As long as the drivers are working, a pair of 7970 GHz edition cards are definitely faster than a 690.

lets not go into details with 7990...

im just breaking the nvidia myth. AMD has great cards too.

because what realy matters is:

how much money you have to spend, and most cases ppl dont hv so much money for the video card, and if you compare prices vs performance AMD is a win win. ;)

fuck off, you ressurect a thread only to show off a expensive card.... :P

anyway i'll stick with the GTX650ti2gb, its miles better than the 7750 with the same price

hmm i have GV-R795WF3-3GD and really not proud of it, compared to nvidia cards amd  has shitty visuals of games. On nvidia 670-790 games looks very beautiful  and thats frustrate me alot.

If you can afford NVidia then just go for it. In some regions -like mine- it is far more expensive than AMD, so I have a HD7870 2G and must say I'm very happy with it.

Typically the motherboard manufactures don't make the greatest cards, that card you have should seriously beat up most any other card near or in it's class. If you are not getting the performance from it you should be and are obviously dissatisfied with it, let me know what your current configuration is and perhaps I can help you. That card and chipset , with that much GDDR5 RAM should be able to play "any" game at Ultimate settings an not even have a hic-up. The only thing that could be holding that card back is not enough RAM on the Motherboard or a slow CPU.

Don't buy Radeon, AMD's drivers always were and still are broken piece of shit. I'd also recommend to try to pull some extra funds for GTX 660, but 650ti should also be totally fine for now.

Wow, this thread got surprisingly popular! Anyway, I'll always recommend the same thing I mentioned earlier; the NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650. Moreso than the 660. The 660 is too big for my comp anyway (Alienware). It barely fits in there, and the fan is too small. Mine fried. The 650 is equally powerful (2 G RAM), and I couldn't fry this thing if I tried (I tried). And it's a little cheaper. NVIDIA represent!

You can't really call them Radeons anymore sense AMD took over. But it wasn't all that long ago when Nvidia was the money sinkhole with crappy drivers and a company that forcefead there will on game companies to not go above DX-9c or they wouldn't support it. Talk about holding back the industry because they were to F'ing lazy to write decent drivers. But yeah, AMD sucks ass at GPU drivers, they took over a company they had no business taking over. Just like Nvidia took over 3DFX and forever lost the best graphics card hands down. And they didn't even build upon the tech that was already there. Buy whatever Card you want, but asking for advice on it always starts a GC flame war. and it turns into the playground "My Dad can whip your Dads ass" routine every time.

they're still radeons(radeon HD to be more precise) you just cant call them ATI anymore after the AMD buyout during the transition from the HD4000 series to the HD5000 series.

As for drivers, this gen actually both have pretty faulty drivers at points. AMD is slow for the framepacing fix for Eyefinity, and Nvidia had the 320.18 debacle which carried over for another 3 beta drivers which potentially could have fried a few cards in that time period. Its pretty ancient to say that AMD has bad drivers this day and age.

I normally don't talk on this forum, but im very much a frequenter to computer sites in general(e.g OCN, Tomshardware) and I tend to pay attention to these trends. Nvidia is commonly bought because of its history with gpus so far and for its "general gamer" image. First page is pretty much proof that Nvidia is generally more recommended because of this(tis why there's a 60/40 dGPU ratio(nvidia/amd))

As for OP, the 650ti(non boost) is generally faster than the 7700(hes decided already, just confirming it) the one thing just to remember is the that 650ti(non boost) is not capable of SLI, so just be aware that you cannot get another 650ti and SLI them for more performance.

To add, PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 on the motherboard gives more bandwidth to the card than 1.1. And many other little factors that affect system performance in general.
