Duoleb The Chosen Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 so guys, the oven trick worked and my 9600Gt 1gb is still alive, but i still need to replace my video card and my PC rig this month wha you guys think about these 2 cards? Zotac GTX650ti 2gb or a XFX HD7770 1gb Core Edition
gregathit Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I have an EVGA GTx650ti 2GB edition and it certainly gets the job done for me. I only use Nvidia products myself. EVGA is much more reputable company and worth switching to if it doesn't cost much more than Zotac. Here is the card I bought: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-3653-KR
TheOrthodoxCaveman Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Take GeForce, it's much better card. In some cases it's better than radeon 7850 even, while 650's price is lower. Plus you will love those 2gb of vram if you use ENBs.
Duoleb The Chosen Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 the only problem is that this one is expensive as hell here because of name EVGA but i found this website here http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1431&gid2=1360&compare=geforce-gtx-650-ti-zotac-2gb-edition-vs-radeon-hd-7770-xfx-core-1gb-edition
TheOrthodoxCaveman Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I don't know where you live, but I wouldn't say 650 is expensive. It's prices are very resonable, but if you cannot afford it you can take that 7770, as long as rest of your pc config is bit out of date also. I wonder what your CPU is?
Duoleb The Chosen Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 i'll change my cpu until december if everything goes well since i have this pc since 2008 intel C2d 2.4(up to 3.2) 3gb of ram old but he could run crysis and warhead on ultra without asking why and most games
TheOrthodoxCaveman Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Difference won't be very noticeable in this config i think, so you can take that 7770 if you find 650's prices too high.
deathparade Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Got a GTX 660 SC by EVGAIam not familiar with AMD GPU's but EVGA comes with some great software where you can setup fan curves and stuff
Duoleb The Chosen Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 well the zotac is 60% more cheap than the EVGA version because as i sayed before, its EVGA thus i don't want a batcave PC, just something to play well
TheOrthodoxCaveman Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 You can check Gainward's 650 ti boost too, it's the cheapest Ti Boost in my region.

Where in the crap can you find a Zotac for under 90 bucks? The cheapest I can find with a quick google search is 137 for a new card: https://www.google.com/shopping/product/2313269561754287349?q=Nvidia%20GeForce%20GTX%20650%20Ti%20Zotac%202GB%20Edition&rlz=1C1DVCP_enUS466US466&es_sm=122&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.53537100,d.eWU,pv.xjs.s.en_US.MLJSUkuQGS4.O&biw=1231&bih=911&dpr=1&tch=1&ech=1&psi=sotQUrKSA4Xk9gTq_oHwBQ.1381010340154.5&sa=X&ei=kIxQUsv-CJHc8ASB0oGwAw&ved=0CPkDEPMCMAE&prds=hsec:features The one I pointed you to is 149.99 (it is on sale). If you can get a zotac for under 90 bucks AND it is new with a full warranty then go for it.
Guest carywinton Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I use primarily use AMD/ATI, and have for years, I currently run (2) HD 7770s in Crossfire configuration. When 3 servers all Intel based totally shutdown in a 6 week period, I dumped Intel and NVidia. I have been a partner with AMD/ATI ever since. Current Rig Specification: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition 16GB of ECC RAM (2) ATI HD 7770 (Sapphire) ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS Cooler Master Limited Edition AMD Dragon case COOLER MASTER RR-V8VC-16PR-R1 140mm POM (CPU Cooler) (3) 120MM Case Fans in assorted cool neon lights and colors man~ woah~
ArielFetters Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I've been looking at this very question, and have discovered dual 650's (Non TI) gets me higher framerates and costs almost the same as a single 7750. I know the 7750 isn't as good as the 7770, but the diff isn't actually that massive. I'm not an NVidea fan, in fact I haven't used intel-related anything for mty last 4 or so computers, so the fact my next build's going to have (Hopefully) Sli 650's is pretty major for me. Here's the diff in FPS with identical systems, just diff video cards (3.6 Ghz 6-core, 16 Gb DDR3-1600, 64Gb SSD, Liquid Cooled/Non OC) FPS based off Cyberpower's Calculator Starcraft 2 (Med) (High) (Ultra) Furmark Tomb Raider (Norm) (Ultimate) Bioshock Infinite (Med) (Very High) Price SLI 650's 89 77 55 54 78 36 58 34 $1082 7750 HD 71 67 55 47 16 6 15 9 $1056 Diff 18 10 0 7 62 30 43 25 $26

That HD7750 can then be partnered with an FM2+ board and compatible APU for more punch. BTW, been Intel/nVidia for years until I thought of trying out AMD for budgetary reasons.

Nvidia also tends to have better drivers since AMD took ATI, the overall performance certainly took a hit as we can see here. I built my current system for under $800.00.
Guest carywinton Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 @Rayblue It used to be a cost factor that really made the difference for me, but it seems Nvidia's chip prices are coming in line with AMDs. I suspect we will see Intel follow this trend before too long, their sales have not done as well. Which would be fine by me, an Intel/Nvidia based system does tend to outperform an AMD/ATI based one, but the price was never worth the difference for an Intel based board, from my perspective anyway.
Xee Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 2GB of VRAM are more than enough if you play on a 1900x1080 monitor using high AA and many shaders. My good ol' HD 4890 with just 1 GB can still afford to play Skyrim in 1080p with 2x AA, FXAA and ENB at a minimum of 30 fps. So basically if you have a big screen you'll probably going to need a bit more than 1GB of VRAM, but usually 2GB on a 650Ti is just an overkill since it lacks of actual power. Speaking of same prices, AMD chips are usually the best option if you don't care about heat and power consumption. Now, if you don't have lots of money to throw into your new rig and your monitor isn't too big, my advice is to get the Sapphire HD7770 Vapor-X GHz Edition 1GB, it's probably the best card you can afford with less than 100€: it have performance, runs cool and quite despite it's AMD, and it's a pleasure to overclock. If you prefer the 650Ti over the HD7770, it will not give you a strong boost in performance as the price may suggest, so you'll probably going to prefer a HD7870 by adding another 30€ to 650Ti.
AwfulArchdemon Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Mine's a GEFORCE GTX 650. It costs $200. If that's "expensive as hell", then nevermind. If it sounds about right, I recommend it like crazy. In fact, I'd take that over the 660, because it's slightly smaller, and just as powerful. It also has a larger fan, so it won't die quickly as the 660 (like mine did). It can handle absolutely anything.

Now that is a pretty decent card, especially if you get this variety and at this cost, it's a pretty darn good deal. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130830&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Desktop+Graphics+Cards-_-N82E16814130830&gclid=CJOv2_zinroCFaXm7AodIRIAfg
mclericp Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 i recommend an upgrade to a GTX 660 if u have the extra money, else 2gb GTX 650ti is fine enough. Just dont get the radeon
Nshell Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 bhahaha mclericp thats a joke isnt it? im very happy with my cards 7970 CXFire http://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/4559969 this is 1 card only http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6034684 this is 2 cards CXFire Core clock 1,150 MHz Memory clock 1,650 MHz bhahahah bring on the Titans...
deathparade Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Holy shit that 650 is like 3 times smaller than my GTX 660 superclocked...
Nshell Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Duoleb if you can maybe save some money and go for 7970, this card is just... call it what ever you want but, you can always in 1 year from now get another 7970 and cxfire for new games. the price vs performance well... Core clock 1,150 MHz Memory clock 1,650 MHz i think this numbers speak for what im trying to tell you.
deathparade Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Core clock doesn't say much as GPU's are basicly CPU's but with ALOT of tiny coresAlso memory clock for my videocard is ~3000 MHz
Nshell Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 can you share a screenie of GPU Z from your card settings just like mine? ide like to see if you dont mind.
