so guys, the oven trick worked and my 9600Gt 1gb is still alive, but i still need to replace my video card and my PC rig this month

wha you guys think about these 2 cards?

Zotac GTX650ti 2gb or a XFX HD7770 1gb Core Edition

I don't know where you live, but I wouldn't say 650 is expensive. It's prices are very resonable, but if you cannot afford it you can take that 7770, as long as rest of your pc config is bit out of date also.

I wonder what your CPU is?

Posted

i'll change my cpu until december if everything goes well since i have this pc since 2008

intel C2d 2.4(up to 3.2)

3gb of ram

old but he could run crysis and warhead on ultra without asking why and most games

Posted

well the zotac is 60% more cheap than the EVGA version because as i sayed before, its EVGA

thus i don't want a batcave PC, just something to play well

What?  Where in the crap can you find a Zotac for under 90 bucks?  The cheapest I can find with a quick google search is 137 for a new card:  https://www.google.com/shopping/product/2313269561754287349?q=Nvidia%20GeForce%20GTX%20650%20Ti%20Zotac%202GB%20Edition&rlz=1C1DVCP_enUS466US466&es_sm=122&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.53537100,d.eWU,pv.xjs.s.en_US.MLJSUkuQGS4.O&biw=1231&bih=911&dpr=1&tch=1&ech=1&psi=sotQUrKSA4Xk9gTq_oHwBQ.1381010340154.5&sa=X&ei=kIxQUsv-CJHc8ASB0oGwAw&ved=0CPkDEPMCMAE&prds=hsec:features

The one I pointed you to is 149.99 (it is on sale).

If you can get a zotac for under 90 bucks AND it is new with a full warranty then go for it.

I use primarily use AMD/ATI, and have for years, I currently run (2) HD 7770s in Crossfire configuration. When 3 servers all Intel based totally shutdown in a 6 week period, I dumped Intel and NVidia. I have been a partner with AMD/ATI ever since.

Current Rig Specification:

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition

16GB of ECC RAM

(2) ATI HD 7770 (Sapphire)

ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Cooler Master Limited Edition AMD Dragon case

COOLER MASTER RR-V8VC-16PR-R1 140mm POM (CPU Cooler)

(3) 120MM Case Fans in assorted cool neon lights and colors man~ woah~

I've been looking at this very question, and have discovered dual 650's (Non TI) gets me higher framerates and costs almost the same as a single 7750. I know the 7750 isn't as good as the 7770, but the diff isn't actually that massive. I'm not an NVidea fan, in fact I haven't used intel-related anything for mty last 4 or so computers, so the fact my next build's going to have (Hopefully) Sli 650's is pretty major for me.

Here's the diff in FPS with identical systems, just diff video cards (3.6 Ghz 6-core, 16 Gb DDR3-1600, 64Gb SSD, Liquid Cooled/Non OC) FPS based off Cyberpower's Calculator

Starcraft 2 (Med) (High) (Ultra)   Furmark   Tomb Raider (Norm) (Ultimate)  Bioshock Infinite (Med) (Very High)         Price

SLI 650's     89       77       55          54                                78          36                                     58         34               $1082

7750 HD      71       67       55          47                               16           6                                       15          9                $1056

Diff              18       10        0            7                                 62          30                                     43         25               $26

I'm happy enough with the single HD7750 I bought just to improve ENB usage. That HD7750 can then be partnered with an FM2+ board and compatible APU for more punch.

BTW, been Intel/nVidia for years until I thought of trying out AMD for budgetary reasons.

Interesting results and really not a big surprise, those games were based on Nvidia graphics. Nvidia also tends to have better drivers since AMD took ATI, the overall performance certainly took a hit as we can see here. I built my current system for under $800.00.

@Rayblue

It used to be a cost factor that really made the difference for me, but it seems Nvidia's chip prices are coming in line with AMDs. I suspect we will see Intel follow this trend before too long, their sales have not done as well. Which would be fine by me, an Intel/Nvidia based system does tend to outperform an AMD/ATI based one, but the price was never worth the difference for an Intel based board, from my perspective anyway.

2GB of VRAM are more than enough if you play on a 1900x1080 monitor using high AA and many shaders. My good ol' HD 4890 with just 1 GB can still afford to play Skyrim in 1080p with 2x AA, FXAA and ENB at a minimum of 30 fps. So basically if you have a big screen you'll probably going to need a bit more than 1GB of VRAM, but usually 2GB on a 650Ti is just an overkill since it lacks of actual power.

Speaking of same prices, AMD chips are usually the best option if you don't care about heat and power consumption. Now, if you don't have lots of money to throw into your new rig and your monitor isn't too big, my advice is to get the Sapphire HD7770 Vapor-X GHz Edition 1GB, it's probably the best card you can afford with less than 100€: it have performance, runs cool and quite despite it's AMD, and it's a pleasure to overclock. If you prefer the 650Ti over the HD7770, it will not give you a strong boost in performance as the price may suggest, so you'll probably going to prefer a HD7870 by adding another 30€ to 650Ti.

Mine's a GEFORCE GTX 650. It costs $200. If that's "expensive as hell", then nevermind. If it sounds about right, I recommend it like crazy. In fact, I'd take that over the 660, because it's slightly smaller, and just as powerful. It also has a larger fan, so it won't die quickly as the 660 (like mine did). It can handle absolutely anything.

Now that is a pretty decent card, especially if you get this variety and at this cost, it's a pretty darn good deal.
