johnnyboy88
Has anybody noticed lately that requests for help are getting rather poor? It's like they don't bother to even try to provide any information anymore. It's like "My game's crashing, help fix it." And that's literally all they say. How can anyone seriously expect people to provide a solution when that's all that's given? It's like they expect people to have a magic patch or something. Here download this and everything will work fine for you even though I have no idea the circumstances of your crash. I'm going to just start copying and pasting this sticky from now on: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/8534-please-read-before-posting-here/ Or maybe just post the link. Force them to click on it like they should have in the first place. I think people ignore stickies. It's not like they have important information or anything. Anyone who fails to provide the information in its entirety after that; I might just ignore. I also wish there was a way to link search results too. I don't know how many times the same question has been asked over and over again. Especially when you search the key word and over half a dozen results pop up with the solution. Take the upgrade to FNIS 4.0 beta 3 example for instance Well, anyway. I just had to rant for a little bit. I could go on but just getting this off my chest helps a bit. heh Link to comment
RitualClarity
This happens every time about this time of the year. Steam has sales and new people get the game. Many times they haven't even been on a forum much less modded games. I agree that perhaps posting a link for them to read before they get help would be an OK idea. Lets just be polite about the issue in the process. Keep in mind we get many people that don't understand some of the basic things that we ourselves know. hell it took me 4 months of posting before I learned how to use a spoiler and insert a photo. Oh and keep in mind that the post you are linking to is for Skyrim not tech support in general. The general rules or tech support is here. There are several post with required info and game specific info needed for those requesting support. Those can be found in the appropriate threads usually sticky. Link to comment
Molevalence
I was just like this when I first found out about Skyrim modding. I didn't have a clue about anything and just installed everything with Nexus Mod Manager. It worked for a while but sooner or later the crashes came and lots of them. I did research and asked many questions earlier this year when I first joined the LL community and everyone here has been very polite and precise with their advice. Now I am improving (At least I think I am ) and have even answered a few questions to other newcomers. Best thing you can do is just be patient. Everyone starts somewhere and best we can do is make their experiences with modding a little bit easier. If I feel like I helped them in any way I feel like I did my part for the LL community. Molevalence
patience is indeed a virtue when it comes to modding and is necessary. If you do not have that then expect Oblivion. Not the game. Herein lies the, I guess you could say "No Patience Part" I doubt it would really matter how many links to how many problem solving threads you post most people do not want to have to click on yet another link that requires more reading fearing losing their place or there question is somehow unique in the thread in which the question is being asked....yet again. <--- Usually the same question has been asked a dozen times but when the title is read, at the top and bottom of every page is a counter of pages which in and of it self can be a deterrent and the last page is clicked on so the question can be asked without having to read however many pages there might be. There hast serves them wrong for the most part. I myself have learned to NOT read in hast because I always miss exactly what I'm looking for. But not everyone has the patience. Link to comment

Koko.Hekmatyar
Back when I used to be a mod for a game forum we had a saying that most of us had ready to copy & paste for people who would make posts like "It won't work HELP!!!" "The quality of information given determines the quality of assistance given" Link to comment
