New Vegas Gentlemen's Club? What should go on in the VIP?

So recently I had to back-up and re-install my system due to a nasty software issue. In doing so, I found out that my old Fallout NV strip club mod was a complete disorganized mess and has been clumping up my HDD for the last three years lol. What really struck me about this is that I have been working on ASX and realized how streamlined my backups and file system is. So, I've taken many of my old models, organized them, changed their texture directories etc, and decided to re-build the club from the ground up.... again lol. My goal this time is to build it in such a way that I have a VERY clear framework.


I've never been inside an actual strip club so I've had to do a lot of research on how they opperate and on some examples from various photos around the net. I've also used a number of games for reference, including Mass Effect 2, GTA 4, GTA 5, Duke Nukem Forever, and The Sabatour.


My idea is to have one or two interactive dancers, while the rest are just there for decoration. The player can buy generic lapdances in the main lobby or can get a better dance in the VIP Lounge. The thing I  am trying to understand is that the discription of what a VIP Lounge is, varies from place to place in the real world and it seems like most people are very secretive about what actually goes on there or they just don't really know. That or they state that it's the same as the main floor but you you to spend a lot of money for very expensive drinks.

I've chosen a very simple level design by making it a one level design with two mini-stages for pole dancers in the middle of the room. I chose to do it this way just to make it's design a bit easier to manage and locate bugs for. I also find that smaller designs that have a lot of things going on, always look much more lively than a large area with a few things sprinkled in here and there.

So what should I include in the VIP lounge?

This is not a pure sex mod, although it is adult in nature. It's ment to be a bit classy. It is more of a gentlemen's club than an actual strip club.

Hm... I think if the question is "what should go on?" the answer is probably not to be found in what actually goes on, but what we want to go on

Ridiculously overpriced drinks are a given; you need a reason to put up with it: the promise of some personal attention  - handjobs, blowjobs & lapdances that are closer to dry humping than dancing - if you keep spending caps. For a strip club in an FNV setting, that's still pretty classy. The problem would be with finding the right anims for some of that - I think I saw a chair sex anim in LPK that could work for lapdancing, maybe.

Now that I'm musing out loud, from a gameplay pov there should probably be a difference for friends of the owner, or rich and powerful customers ordering one expensive bottle after another and tipping heavily, compared to any jackass that walks in off the street. Seemed to be how it worked in the Sopranos. But not every dancer's the same in what they'll do, or at what price. It could keep it interesting if the prettiest ones are the hardest to get a little extra from, because they pick up more tips from actual dancing anyway. If she says "look but don't touch", you should get a bouncer on your ass if you do touch, that sort of thing. Those types of mechanics could keep it from being too easy, and keep the facade of being "a bit classy".

I agree with DoctaSax. It should be what the community and you want in the club. As you develop it you will be able to feel out what is good and bad, what is needed and not needed. It don't have to be based in any fashion on a real strip club. There can be private rooms for various activities..

 

Make what you would enjoy in what you believe would be a good strip club in the Wasteland. As long is it fits your vision that is all that really matters. If along the way you see some nice ideas that would also be cool and you can implement them ..great.

 The first thing I think a VIP lounge should offer is classier decor.

Pay careful attention to the lighting; picking a more appropriate color

temperature for the lighting, and careful light placement will make

the girls look more attractive, and the PC too.

 

 Consider a change in the background music, and a music loudness

level more conducive to conversation.

 

 Differences in level of service could be as basic as topless-only on

the main floor, and full nude in the VIP lounge. I recall getting a lap

dance in a topless-only club, where the girl stuck her crotch in my

face and pulled her panties to one side so I could see (and smell)

her pussy. That made for a nice memory; I had a very pleasant

conversation with her too, that had nothing to do with sex... another

nice memory.

 

 I could see a scenario where a girl in a VIP lounge might offer

extra 'favors' after you've visited a few times and gotten to know her.

 

 Also consider the possibility of swapping drugs for sex.

 

 A lower class girl might lead you into a utility room for a blowjob; a girl

in the VIP lounge should have somewhere nicer to take you.

If you want to base anything in your 'VIP lounge' on the action in current US strip clubs, please keep in mind that prostitution is illegal in most US jurisdictions, and 'adult entertainment' clubs are very careful to not cross that line and endanger their licenses. 

 

They are in the business of selling sizzle, not serving steak.

 

In the words of the famous stand-up philosopher Chris Rock:  "No matter what the stripper tells you, there is no sex in the champagne room."

 

Of course in the 2277 wasteland, where 'law' often means 'pleasing to the guy with the most guns'.... so do what thou wilt. 

 

There seems to be no problem with the Atomic Wrangler and the Gomorrah selling sex.   

Perhaps a conservative community like North Vegas Square, Goodsprings, possibly (NCR controlled) Primm or Boulder would tolerate a strip club only if there was no prostitution?

As usual DoctaSax has the right ideas , information and approach. Since this is "New Vegas" where in current times , prostitution "IS" legal, well there is your guideline for the "VIP Room". But as most stated here, make it what you want, being a former US Navy man, I can tell you from experience, yep I have been in many all over the world. Usually the VIP area or Lounge requires prior membership for the "hush-hush" variety where things go on that are , umm, not exactly legal. In the US, you will not find this type of VIP Lounge , except in Vegas, other states will give you the illusion you will get more in their "special" areas, but you won't and it will cost you a damn fortune to find out. I got hit in Florida for over $1,000 in a place called Rachael's that "promised more" even from the dancer/entertainer herself, they took the money and ran, never came back out, nor met me in the "special room". So you could even set up a Bait and Run game too, which I would love to see some players reaction to that, Hell I wish I could have shot up the place that night, lol. That reminds me, my Florida Buddy still owes me for getting me smashed and involved in that place, hmm, maybe he got a cut?

 

No flame war intended here, but read what I said, "NEW VEGAS" not "LAS VEGAS" I was speaking of the game environment, in any event take a look at this mod, it is definitely worth looking at and may give you some very good ideas on what to do.

Prostitution is NOT legal in the current real world Las Vegas. It's not legal anywhere in Clark County where Las Vegas is located. That said, you do find illegal sources all over Las Vegas... streetwalkers, escorts, strippers who freelance, bar hookers, gambling table hookers, motel hookers, etc..

 

If people want legal prostitutes, they go to the neighboring counties about 90+ miles away where prostitution is in the form of legalized brothels like the ones in Pahrump, NV.

 

As far as I'm concerned though... the Fallout world has discarded pretty much everything from the real world as far as adult entertainment goes. It has its own brand so you should feel free to include whatever forms of adult entertainment you wish in your club.

I would like to add about legal prostitution. If you follow the story the history forked around the 30-40s and prostitution was technically illegal everywhere.  It didn't become legal until much after the fork in history in Nevada.

 

That being said. It is believable that it can be legal in the game. There are prostitutes throughout Fallout 3 and Fallout NV. Since Bethesda added the storyline into the game it is perfectly legitimate in my opinion to have prostitutes in your Gentleman club.

Update: Sorry for the slow news guys. I've been very busy the last month. Anyway, I'm shooting for the middle somewhere to be honest. I know that in the real world, prostitution is not legal in the US. However, in New Vegas, it is because there really aren't any laws.

 

I really want this to be a bit nicer place than say Gammorah and allow that to set it apart from the other sex dens. So, I'm going more for a classy burlesque/strip club feel.

 

I'm thinking I'll have the basic girls just perform private topless dances inside the private booths if the player asks for them. There will be two table/mini-stage dancers in the main room with scripted lights and a live band playing on the main stage with possibly a couple of backup dancers.

 

 

The player can win various prizes at the blackjack tables. Basically the first prize is a steak and wine. The second would be a VIP pass to the champaign room if you will. To keep things simple, yet rewarding, the dancers will remove thier panties in here and go full nude during private dances. The private booths are a bit more private than the main stage area. If the player buys a "Party Bottle" item, the dancer will possibly masturbate, and if the player tips well and compliments/flirts with the dancers, they will begin the like the player enough to offer them a BJ when in the VIP area. There may only be one or two girls you can actually interact with in the VIP room and they will be specific to those areas. If the players wins the top prize at the blackjack tables, they can get a master suite inside the club. I will have an intercom where the player can invite the girl from the VIP room up and she will offer him sex again if she likes the player enough.

 

I may or may not offer sex animations however. I'm trying to keep it reasonably simple. I may make a sexout version later however. Right now I'm trying to keep things simple but still give it a burlesque/strip club feel.

Just want to know, have you design the club building yet? If not, may be you can save some effort by using/converting some open source "new area" mods (which we may help you by recommend you some) and give you more time for the script..........

Might be something I'll look into for the future. Once a system is established, it's not that difficult to add to. I think you will be very happy with the club I'm building however.
