LE or SPECIAL EDITION

Recommended Posts

Hi, Ive recently purged my LE edition skyrim from all its mods to give a fresh re install without any loose files. Now I am wondering if it is worth moving over to special edition. Has the modding there caught up and can I create the same experience I had in LE? Also which is more stable as in less crashing.

SE, no question. It's more stable, faster, have no (serious) mods limit, get 4 free DLCs and nearly all mods today are create for it.

The most mods are already converted to SE or are replaced by better mods.

PS: An uptodate SE and the buyable AE are to 100% the same version of the game.

Thank you for your response, I am a little scared of having to find all the mods I want to get the experience I want but I guess it is going to be worth it if I don't crash every 2 minutes

gotta say though, getting Bhunp running is supper confusing, it looks like I need to do a lot more work just to get simple phsysics.

Tell me about it. I was setting up my SE/AE install on my new computer.

Figuring out 3BA or BHUNP is much more time consuming than I want. Also my CPU was running at 100 % with 3BA.

The Vagina from both 3BA and BHUNP was spazzing out. And the model is ugly compared to my LE vagina. Also there is no HDT editor in SE/AE. You have to use Notepad++.

Landscape mods are superior though. Before I quit the modding I had a dream setup with Tree, Grass, Montains and Water. See link for pics.

My perfect working HDT PE install on LE demands no work. To get to that point in AE I have to spend hundreds/thousands of hours modding.

MY LE ENB is also much more colorful than what the Special Edition offers. Even from Pi-Cho high preset ENB which I used for the SE/AE screenshots.

considering crashes on LE if you use the enbseries mod without any real enb if you dont want i raises the game memory up to 24 giga istead of the usual 3 it uses so there are no more crashes

ye I did all that, but eventually after playing a save for many hours the crashes still start.

welp I am just at a point of giving up now, hours of modding and I just can not put textures on my character while using BHunp. LE was so much simpler.

Please explain?

What I found most difficult was to begin using Mod Organizer 2. It has some learning curve compared to Nexus Mod Manager in LE.

maybe that is the problem I am still using NMM,

Anyways in my body slide I can see textures like nipples and so on, but ingame I get original game textures over the changes body, which believe me looks freaky. no nipples bassically XD

Could be that You use CBBE textures with an UNP body like BHUNP.

Have You checked the texture paths from your body mesh files? - Maybe try installing body textures manually without Mod Manager.

I had a hard time with Mod Organizer, as all mods were installed outside the Game directory.

In LE I was used to see these files where they should be.

In my experience body replacers, textures and animations only worked when I installed them in the STEAM game directory.

FNIS also gave me headaches when installed outside game directory.

The good thing about Mod Organizer 2 is that everything is handled inside this program. You can start all modding programs via MO2.
