Pie in the sky starfield mod ideas

We know tantalizingly enough about the game to come up with ideas, but not quite enough to be tethered by reality. So let's share our most out there mod ideas. Get as wild and crazy as you want with what you'd like to see in mods for the game.

 

Short one: I'd like to be able to quick melee while doing one handed shooting. Running and gunning is good, running gunning and halo melee bashing is even better.

Long one: You find a crash landed colony ship. They are stranded and to cope with the hostile environment they resorted to genetic modification. This had the side effect of creating parasites that are slowly turning them into ant-girls! Help save the colony ship while getting transformed yourself! It would probably take some inspiration from honest hearts, with a bunch of exploration based quests as exploring slowly advances your transformation. Become the ant-girl queen to make sure the colony survives.

I would honestly love to see escape pods and drop pods; I don't think they've been officially confirmed yet, unless I've missed something.

Just imagine piloting a capital ship you've made, being struck on all fronts and when you finally come to terms with that fact that you're being overwhelmed, you give the signal to evacuate; after a few seconds of prep, you hop out of your captains seat, run through your ship, alarms blaring, and red lights flashing all over, all of the consoles are empty, everyone is gone; you head down to the lower deck, into the room housing all of your escape pods and spot your crew climbing aboard them and launching. As captain, you're the last one off the ship, but you at least get your own personal escape pod, even fitted with a golden toilet, truly a captains throne, and complete with blackjack and hookers to boot.

 

You launch, and as your pod boosts away you can only watch as your ship gets ravaged. You hit the surface of the planet, climb out of your pod and notice your crew pods made it down safely. You set up a distress signal, but this alerts the pirates; they send a vessel down and land nearby, and now you have to finish them. After doing so, you now have a new ship you can just take, or you can wait for a ship to answer your distress signal, the choice is up to you.

 

As for the drop pods, I just think it's a cool way to land on a planet, it would be pretty similar to the escape pods but they would allow you to coordinate your landing zone instead of just finding the nearest planet and picking a random location; NPCs wouldn't use them either, even during an evacuation alarm, but you could probably manually tell someone to enter the drop pod.

I want to add some modules to the base and starship builders. If i can want to rearrange the furniture and give it that personal touch. And of course, I want furniture for brainwashing captive pirates, performing deeply unethical experiments upon them.

 

And I think I'd like a combination sex doll and co-pilot. Maybe with a small footprint charging station where I could store her if not in use.

- like in mass effect, let the npc pilot the ship

- the ship should be used in water/under water - boat gameplay

- let the player own a giant capital ship - you would have to use a inside the ship hanger to select smaller ships if u want to visit a planet

- let there be windows on ships where u can look out to space

- ships that have wings

- unnecessary inside the ship furniture/gimmicks like a pool or a gym

For RP purposes: a mod that tracks psychological states.  Space is a big, empty, lonely place. Have a mod the tracks how long you go without interacting with other people and begin to apply negative effects.  Those could simply be debuffs or things like hallucinations, false radar pings, or unique dialogue options.  Other stressful events could further degrade your mental state like experiencing low health or low oxygen.  Basically making a form of "space madness" that you could suffer from by being a lone explorer.  This could be purely SFW or include NSFW content.

 

For general play: some type of planet-side vehicle mod. I was thinking a swoop or speeder bike from Star Wars.  If you could adjust the jetpack mechanics to limit vertical thrust and give more forward thrust I think you could make a pretty good speeder bike.

My wife's ship - the "pink star destroyer" is on the landing platform of the carrier - my ship " - the white lady" is in the hangar.

(both ships are about 190 metres long - the pilot looks very tiny in comparison)

I'll wait for 3-4 years - until mod authors have created something comparable in "Starfield" ... meanwhile I'll continue my rounds through the Milky Way - that'll probably be 10-12 years in total

Well - let's be honest ... nobody plays Skyrim or Fallout after 8-10 years because of the vanilla missions ... which was already the case in the previous parts.


Interesting quests only came from mod authors ... the question is what do they come up with in a sfi-space-world.


I was more concerned with exploration (not with the "Imperial Cutter", of course, but with the "Explorer") - my wife is more the combat pilot of the two of us.


even if you leave the bug debate out of it ... what does the base game come with and what can you integrate via mods at all?


Ground vehicles (with wheels) won't be available - but we didn't play "buggy" races every day either.

I'd like to have a tentacle infestation mod. You pick up a strange alien artifact on a distant planet, why it almost looks like an egg. As you travel the egg hatches and the tentacles start to subtly attack and change you while you sleep. Then you start to lay eggs of your own, but why worry when you hear that calming whisper in your ear. Slowly your crew starts to change as the tentacles grow along the walls.

 

It's cliche I know, but I think it could be a fun time if done well. Also fits a sci-fi theme well.

My pie in the sky mod is a big B5 space station or remote settlement where the inhabitants have firmly embraced a BDSM lifestyle and public sexual slavery is a accepted and institutionalized. Something like the world of Torei.

Torei's existence in the Settled Systems is semi-public but tolerated by the powers that be, either by location, loopholes in the local laws, or by the simple fact their medical technology is so advanced that they can offer immortality to those wealthy enough. Not of means? Not a problem, one simply has to become indentured servant on Torei or one of their ships for a period of time in exchange for a new youthful and healthy body. They'll even remove the sexual implants afterward if you don't want them.

I want something that swaps those Astral Lounge dancers so they are three women. They can keep the outfits.

 

And I think I'd like to be able to transport captives in transparent plastic bubbles. I'd trail them on filament behind the ship. Not very secure, but that thin plastic wall is all that keeps the air in and a horrible death from explosive decompression out.

 

Maybe make sure they#re naked and cuffed first to limit the chances of accidental damage. And probably build in some lighting into the bubbles so we can clearly see them all all times.

Anyone want to talk space suits?

 

I can see three options that might appeal.

 

Version one is essentially the same as the vanilla suits, but with large portions made of transparent material.

 

Version two is the old pulp magazine approach: fishbowl helmet and skintight suit. High heels optional.

 

The third option is to say it's forcefield based and have our spacegals naked. Again optionally with fishbowl helmet, high heel booties and gloves.

I prefer practical > sexy/style. I would like to see "light" versions of spacesuits that are less bulky and more form fitting. (see pic)

 

I also like the thought of a female in a big bulky suit but wearing something skimpy like a latex like skin suit, bra and panties, or just nothing at all under it to be hot. Eh, everyone has their fetish.

 

I'm also am fine with "station wear" skin tight outfits with emergency bubble helmets that folks would wear around a space station or ship in the case of decompression.

You know I think this is actually mostly possible based on what they've shown. There shouldn't be any reason you can't make a transparent sphere hooked onto a ship by a cord. The only thing that would probably hold it up is the fact that we haven't seen NPC's out in the vacuum exteriors. Like the engine just might not support it because of glitchy technical reasons. Though you could probably work around it and get creative. Like maybe they come in slightly opaque colors lit from within so you can see a silhouette? Almost like paper lamps.

1.) Well space on a ship is going to be at a premium for obvious reasons. It'd be a lot easier to store captives and such if you could vacuum seal them to the walls maybe with some 'entertainment' for the long trips. Could just be a static mesh with some breathing sound effects when near, along with some occasional 'humming.'

 

2.) The real pie in the sky one, the ability to join said captives in their bondage if slavers raided your ship. So far they haven't shown anything with the AI targeting engines on your ship to disable you for boarding, but I think it would be a little dull if the player is the only one with the power of two working eyes and an autotarget button. It'd be fun if you occasionally had to repel assaults' from time to time.

 

Have them take your ship under the excuse of 'abusing clearance codes' or something with potential enslavement. Be downgraded from captain to slave as your ship is passed from owner to owner. Maybe when they think your broken or trust you enough you are put back on board as the 'pilot' with a captain that you have to answer to. Hooked up to several devices meant to 'encourage you.' Be forced to hail other ships in an attempt to demoralize their crew.

 

Eventually the end goal for such a faction would be to secure there own capital ship, tailored to their needs. Do too well at your 'job' and don't manage to escape? Well then your game ends aboard that ship as they have little need for your by now badly damaged and ill maintained space hulk. Spending the rest of your days as another relief slave for the crew.

Yeah space suits is going to be a big one for mods. -1 seconds until a samus zero suit mod. More specifically I'd like pretty skimpy spaces suits that hang partially open while on the ship/in atmosphere showing underwear beneath them. Skin tight space suits would also be good.

 

Maybe bio suits? That's a not uncommon idea for sci-fi. You get grown a suit well adapted for the particular climate. Still something other than just a xenomorph/queen of blades skin would be nice. They could be insect or tentacle themed.

 

My new pie in the sky mod idea is dronification. It's not an uncommon transformation kink, you get converted into a generic robot/minon. The sci-fi theme of Starfield works with it well.

 

Here's my idea: In the depths of space you run into a giant pyramid shaped ship. (they got the idea from the ancient Egyptians.) They invite you aboard and then unsurprisingly take you captive. What follows is a slow sequence where you converted into an obdient jackal guard! The sequence would need to be tailored to the assets available. But would probably involve mental compulsions, wearing revealing Egyptian themed clothing, body transformations, and those big anubis hats.

There's also the question of loan repayments. If you take the Dream Home trait you begin with a mortgage of 50k and need to make regular repayments. Suppose you miss one? I can imagine being forced to work in the bank-owned whorehouse chain until you cleared your arrears. Maybe five days every month at the branch of your choice until the arrears is cleared, either through whoring or because you brought the account up to date.

 

And of course increasing penalties for missing further payments.

Regarding prostitution and sexual slavery in Starfield.

 

When looking at the current factions that we know about I can see each one treating these topics in a different way which in turn could bring a different experience to the player.

 

United Colonies - The UC is a post energy scarcity (or close to it with fusion power) cosmopolitan society that provides extensive social services to its citizens. Adult entertainment is legal including prostitution, but regulated. With 24th century medical tech, unwanted pregnancy is nigh impossible and STDs are non-existent or easily curable. Having a healthy sex life is considered a medical necessity. The police force has a significant amount of AI enforcement who don't care if the victim is a prostitute. AI also makes networking and finding clients much easier. So the role of pimps are not needed. If one can deal with the paperwork (which the AI's handle anyway), cities like New Atlantis are the safest places for an escort to work. 

 

Places like Cydonia, where corporate greed can push back on regulation, are an exception. They tend to be a bit more industrialized when it comes to prostitution, hiring adult entertainment subcontractors to help raise the morale of a workforce that faces a dangerous working conditions. 11 hours without fatal incident indeed. Exploitation of sex workers can occur as they can be locked into contracts that make it so they are stuck on some rock with a hostile environment. 

 

While BDSM clubs and societies are common in the UC, actual sexual slavery, or any kind of nonconsensual activities except as part of a criminal rehabilitation (more like schooling than labor), is prohibited.

 

Freestar Collective - As a whole the FC doesn't prohibit or regulate adult entertainment. It's not the interstellar government's business, leaving such matters to local laws and traditions.

 

Akila - While prostitution is legal in Akila, the conservative traditions of its settlers make it so most of its citizens regard prostitution with contempt. Because law enforcement is less likely to investigate crimes against prostitutes seriously, escorts will sometimes turn to pimps to protect them from abusive clients. Forced chain gang style labor is considered an appropriate punishment for criminals.

 

Neon - Neon cares about one thing. Money. Almost anything goes? That's just on the tourist brochure. Anything goes in Neon if one knows where to look. While the glittering towers might have high class escorts that are the best and most sought after in the settled systems, there are the red light districts for tourists, street walkers desperate for their next Aurora fix down in the lower streets, and unspeakable black shit that goes down in the bowels of the city. While "technically" slavery is prohibited. Human trafficking occurs just as much as Aurora smuggling.

 

The Red Mile - The Red Mile are located on the edge of the Settled Systems, outside the laws of the UC and FC, for a reason. They are all about gambling with human lives. Escorts, consensual or not, entertain the customers. Not being able to pay for gambling debts could end up having one pay with their body instead. Thus, public non-consentual slaver is present.

 

The Crimson Fleet - They are fucking pirates, like they care about laws. Outright abusive slavery, human trafficking, and all the rest happens. No one cares. The strong rule and the weak serve or die, that's it.

 

House Va'Ruun - Rumors of the cultists use of sex and sacrifices in their esoteric rituals have not been verified.

Now I'm imagining a bank or consortium of them that appear to be completely on the up and up. File their taxes and seem like a great investment partner, but it turns out that the founders where a little bit...Eccentric, and along the frontier they ended up constructing several 'high yield entertainment centers' as they are called in the paperwork.

 

These places would be part Casino, part hotel, part brothel, and part bdsm club. The idea being that anything you win in the former you spend in the latter. Instead of just overpriced drinks at the bar to bleed your newfound riches dry there are overpriced prostitutes as well. Roaming the casino floor and 'attending' to anyone that seems to be doing well in the hope that they'll stay the night and spend more.

 

Roaming mistress's, masters, and submissives also occasionally wander out onto the floor to find easy targets to either take back to there rooms for a very expensive night, or to whisper in their ears about how much they like 'winners' and how they'll definitely stay with you if you just keep rolling to win. Or in one Domme's case tell you how much they like losers because that's some people's thing.

 

None of this is actually illegal, and upon entry guests are made to sign a waiver that on the surface looks like a basic 'don't sue us if you lose.' boilerplate. Unfortunately signing it allows them to charge several 'overdraft fee's' if you run out of credit (Or didn't buy enough from) the casino. The fee's are extensive and they don't go into effect until Midnight the day of. Ostensibly so that you have time to catch them and pay it off, but in reality there more so that you don't notice until you've racked up a significant debt. After which their accounts are frozen and whatever 'assets' the bank can get there hands on are taken.

 

'Debtors' essentially have three options.

 

1.) Working directly for the HYEC, from menial tasks like washing dishes for the rest of your life. (You'll never pay it back at that salary.) To more lucrative work as a casino employee or escort. Who get paid significantly more based on how many they can sucker in. To a roaming Dom or Sub meant to get the weak willed to really open their wallets and get trapped themselves.

 

2.) Your ship gets converted into a freighter and you're made to haul cargo for the banks. Typically bonds, stocks, and rare minerals. Obviously this pays very well, unfortunately it's also a very nice payday for pirates. So you'd have to work your way up the ladder for trust to carry the really lucrative hauls. You'd also be made to accept a crew of 'outside observers' on your ship to ensure you don't just run off with the treasures. (Of course you still could if you managed to make them all disappear on the voyage, You're never working off that bounty though. : ) )

 

3.) As advertisement, your ship is refitted with several modules that are somewhat nice but on the outside are painted with logos, slogans, and advertisements of the HYEC. (Think slavetats but for ships) You yourself are also put into a skimpy set of uniforms and are locked in them. Before being made to go settlement to settlement and extol the wonders and pleasures you can find at the HYEC, Take interested potential clients back to them well offering 'complimentary services' of what they can expect at the center. (Overpriced drink menu included.) Essentially you become a 'pleasure barge' that advertises and transports customers to and from the casino. (To make sure the people who actually win, arrive home with as little as possible.) Don't want to directly advertise? Or don't quite have the figure for it? Well the HYEC will place some more then eager crew on board to help. (You're still getting locked into a nice dress or suit though. They have standards to keep after all.) You'll just be making less on average then as a one woman or man show. Also the easiest way to escape without paying off your debts. Might be a while before you can refit your ship and get out of those locks though.

 

Stick with any of these methods long enough, (except dishwashing seriously they'll own you forever at that rate) and you'll eventually be debt free and they'll offer you an actually good contract to help restart your life if you work for them. Allowing you to continue with your adventures and enjoy the HYEC with complimentary drinks from now on.

 

...What? This is the pie in the sky thread.
