Followers with Burned Skin

Hello!

Well .. the thing is ..since I can remember playing Skyrim .. black skin over the followers is a somewhat recurring problem, so much that I consider it ''normal'' ..although it is obviously not something normal. Of course ..I'm talking about a modified game with a 'medium' amount of mods installed. Although it also happened to me when I had about 800 mods installed in my previous game .. so I'm not talking about the vanilla game

What happens is that after playing a certain number of hours in a row ..5 or 6 in general.. suddenly black skin appears over one or more of my followers and that happens totally randomly, not always on a specific follower

It is not lack of V-RAM (I think) because I have plenty on the video card ..12 GB. Also, the black skin is not flat, it looks burnt, with a burnt texture. I don't understand what the fuck causes such a thing. But what I know very well is that after this happens ..the game always does CTD ..10 or 15 minutes after the 'burned skin' appeared over a follower. So I usually quit the game before that happens

So ..I don't know what that is or if it's just ''normal'' because the game gets ''tired'' or something like that, or if there is a way to fix that??

I would appreciate any info anyone can give me. Thanks.

Sounds like a stable game to me!

I will do it! but something that I did not mention is the ''burned skin'' does not always happen ..sometimes the game continues normally after 6 hours without that problem

If you have enb/enboost press F4 (default), that cleans up the vram.

If the black skin stays you know it's something else.

Okay! I'll try it when I already have Snapdragon installed. Thanks for the info

IIRC there are some armors defined with Astrid’s skin as the default, which gets replaced with the character’s when equipped. That fits with the VRAM cleanup being need, but it may also be worth checking which armors are involved, and replacing any Astrid skin with regular. The Astrid textures contribute to the vram load, so eliminating them will help avoid the issue.

We want to see screenshots!

Wait, what happens if you save the game if the skin is burned? Is it still there after reload?

If it's not the black skin bug caused by issues with vram, I also would go with ghastley's theory.

Since I'm barely modding the game again .. I don't even play with armors on ..I play with the girls completely and fully naked

In this follower it was in the last one that the burned skin appeared, but 'she' was totally naked:

Can be a standalone texture problem?? because as I remember .. the problem does not appear in followers who have the same skin texture as the main character, in this case Fair Skin

Maybe this helps?

"Do you happen to have the bijin all in one - ussep patch? i had the same issue with the burning skin like you say, i found out the problem was that patch, no matter where i put it in my load order i kept having the problem so i ended deleting the patch and i havent had any issue without it. "

Okay, if the glitch is afraid of screenshots, then I demand a screenshot until your done with that setup ?

Nope. I don't have that installed

Finally it happened again, and again only in '' Liz '' follower while all the other characters and followers continue with perfect skin

I checked the game with Skyrim Performance Monitor always on. The average usage of V-RAM is 1.5 GB, and average usage of RAM is 2.5 GB. Very FAR from my available limit. I do not have an ENB installed nor the 4K Parallax textures I use. It simply can't be lack of V-RAM, unless it's some very fucking strange problem or bug that I've never heard of

Nope .. I saved while the skin was burned and when I reload the save .. the skin is perfect

Any solution that works is the right one.

Maybe it's specifically the follower?? that can be possible? corrupted textures somehow? since it is a standalone follower .. Hmm ..I don't want to ask on Nexus because that site really sucks balls when it comes to interacting

This armor has black textures. I already tried the 3 versions for LE .. and they all have black textures (some parts of the outfit), other parts are invisible

https://www.patreon.com/posts/polo-underboobs-56307490

In this case it doesn't matter how long I spend in the game, even 1 minute after loading the save, if I equip one of those black parts, or the invisible parts .. the game always freezes

So ..can someone check to see if it's the armor or is it a problem with black textures in my game? .. this damn problem scares me too much because it doesn't make fucking sense

That's not astrid's burnt skin texture.
If something like this occurs, a magic effect may have caused it (shader/texture changes)
If it happens: open console -> click on the NPC -> look at all active effects.

PS: The follower Liz does not use any additional textures.
