Dude, I can have conversations with an italian guy and understand each other. Roman languages have little to no barrier (personal experience)

Banned because you clearly took a different history class. Spanish, French, Italian are different from German and English due to separations in the roman empire (And Germania never spoke Latin). Saying that Spanish and German share roots at that level is like saying the Spaniards discovered America or were the first to navigate around Africa.
