Followers following me even after being dismissed.

My followers are still following me after being dismissed. I use Nethers Followers Framework. This all started when I installed virgil yamato 2.8 I believe.

To cut to the chase, its a combat animation mod. Once installed I ran nemesis, loot, and it all worked with no issues. the only problem but I had to uninstall unfortunately.

So I loaded a save right before I installed the mod, and noticed I cant dismiss followers on any of my saves.

So I tried console commands, setting my follower count to 0 and etc.

I uninstalled NFF and reinstalled it, and used an option in its installer to replace the vanilla follower recruit and dismiss dialogue completely with NFF's.

Before if I dismissed, the part ways dialogue would still be there, now after reinstalling and using nethers dialogue, when I dismiss them, the dialogue reflects it and actually changes.

I even see a notification stating they have been removed from a follower slot. Now I can ask them to join me and dismiss freely, but even after dismissing...and once again, it says follow me

as if they were dismissed... my followers still follow me regardless of being dismissed, I need advice. could

Has the dismissal of followers ever worked since the use of NFF?

And did the dismissal take place via the vanilla dialogue - which is still available - or via the NFF function?

For the NFF test, did they actually regenerate a game character or just upload an existing one in the starting cell?

---

I have been using NFF myself since my recent reinstallation - but so far I have only used Recorder as a companion - and it has its own companion system, so to speak.

However, dismissing and re-setting has worked perfectly so far.

yes, I have been using nff for a long time now and it has always worked just fine until recently.

it took place via vanilla dialogue which sent them straight to nff framework to be managed.

I am not sure I understand the 3rd question but it is still the same follower, no clone/copy or anything like that. any save that I load up, the follower system is just broken...

I loaded a save with a totally different follower while we were within an interior cell, a cave basically, and got the same broken results.

In order to really make a clean function test after uninstalling a mod, it is advisable ... to create a character completely new - in good "German" -> start the game anew with the generation of the character.

because already in the first memory state there can be "remainders" of faulty installations.

idk if it still works, but IFF you only have one follower, you could try a console command

set playerfollowercount to 0

(not sure how to deal with it if you have other followers. maybe faction spy might help root it out

When I purge the followers, "there's 2 of them"  in nff, they are dismissed. when I recruit them they come back but I have to purge to dismiss for some reason. and faction spy spells wont show up in my alteration spells for some reason, but I am currently working on that
