Guest Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) > The game didn't CTDed until recently, constantly reporting C++ runtime error. No new mods have been installed, load order didn't change, only one mod was updated. It especially crash at the one and the same place: Forgotten vale. MC++ was reinstalled several times, graphic card drivers are updated, there is no virus or malware. The game runs on Windows 11 with latest updates. Must say this: the player have been playing in FV before, several times and never had a problem. Please, help. Edited May 21, 2023 by Evaloves4
Leoosp Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) @Evaloves4 I'm running the following VC++ Redists (Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn) along with Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center. Specifically are running Visual C++ 2012 (x86 & x64), Visual C++ 2013 (x86 & x64) and finally Visual C++ 2015-2022 (x86 & x64). Have you checked your running these, that way if you come across any mods which require them then they will run. Also in the past I have found from time to time that a Microsoft Windows 10 and/or Windows 11 monthly update and definitely feature update may remove the Optional DirectX Runtime Components. Also are running the latest .Net 6.0 LTS (x86 & x64) for some mod managers and/or mods for games. Skyrim LE, Skyrim SE and/or Skyrim AE requires these optional DirectX Runtime components. Without these the game will crash with a C++ runtime error. Additionally have you checked the hard drive in case things have become corrupted (OS and/or Game Installation)? There is such a thing as "bit rot". It's complaining about a lot of wrong types and missing files. May be worth a SMART (storage drive) status check in case drive is failing if there's other errors in other parts of the computer (using other different software). Edited May 20, 2023 by Leoosp
donttouchmethere Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) Warning: Me thinks in LE ways! Sounds to me like an issue with the Dawnguard DLC. IIRC you are doing DG quests and also visited soul cairn. Especially a certain soul cairn quest makes issues as long as it isn't finished. Maybe this helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTbIElQiLfQ or type this into console (this finishes the quest): setstage dlc1vqsaint 20 setstage dlc1vqsaint 30 setstage dlc1vqsaint 200 or this helps (soul cairn horse quest): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/41411/? DG is a pain >.< As if I can't make the game already unstable enough with mods ? Edited May 20, 2023 by donttouchmethere

There are so many little bugfixes out there, it's hard to follow them all. I downloaded so many but now I have no clue anymore what they are for (at least from the file names it's hard to know what they have in mind) lol Edited May 22, 2023 by donttouchmethere
