[Sexbound] Crashing on any sexbound node climax?

While in the middle of a Sexbound node action, when any character goes into the climax sequence; the game will either crash to desktop or just send me back to the ship floating in space until I beam down again. TL;DR I can't initiate any nodes and can't find the issue - some help would be appreciated, and I can offer logs if requested.

[Every SxB related mod was freshly installed, I've even tried them without any of my steam mods, but it seems as if it doesn't wanna work after completely emptying my subscriptions.]

I have the same problem as you in interactive CritterBang!mod . Interactive climax will directly cause the shipsave to crash and kick you to the Starbound title menu.

Sadly,'m using the 4.01 version of sxbAPI that doesn't support sxbr (because many race mods and older extensions don't support the new version)

Yeah, it's odd, and it only started happening recently too.

Recently found out if you're using POV Redux regardless of Sexbound API or Sexbound Reborn it will break them both, try removing PoV Redux and any PoV related mods and see if that patches it.

Think about the POV mod recent update, I guess some code compatibility is probably not holding up anymore.

Man, no wonder i felt like someone was talking about my mods!
You guy do know that PoV has two versions, one for Reborn and one for normal API yeah?
Speaking about random issues you're having, outside of either relevant mod's thread, just means you're not getting support from either side, and i can vouch for both versions of PoV working, i can record it as a video file, post it here, and then upload it to CornHub on top. It won't change people talking my mods don't work outside of their support threads.

... i don't mean to be an ass folks, but, come on, please, at least put in the couple clicks of effort to open the page of one of the mods you're thinking is to blame, and asking for help, preferably without pointing fingers like they murdered your dog, and you get help! There is no magic there. The Starbound log file is asked by almost everyone when there is a issue to help you resolve such issues. Sure, i do patrol these forums, but it helps to start in the right place.

Yeah, I figured I should've dropped one here, but I was extremely tired at the time being - and I looked a bit after some time and now it's working again after grabbing the right version, thankfully.

Hiya! I'm also crashing during the climax scene, even with the POV mod removed. The error that I believe keeps crashing my game is "[Error] WorldServerThread exception caught: (JsonException) Improper conversion to JsonArray from object", and I've tried to do as much research on this error as I can, but there has been no avail. I do have around 400 mods, maybe even more, but this also just started happening recently. I once believed it was Spooky Tweaks, but after uninstalling it, the crashes do still occur. The full log is here, and any help is appreciated!

... wow that is extremely peculiar, and hard to nail down. I can't honestly be arsed to comb through 400+ mods, but i can tell you, something is modifying base files improperly. Even things like basic buff animations are throwing errors...

I guess this must be a new incompatibility, and sadly, as i've mentioned, combing through 400 mods is a chore and a half, stuff of two-days-worth of troubleshooting if i were lucky, tried to give it a short read but being sick doesn't help, only mod i saw that had caused problems in the past was Armor Adapt, but i thought that had been fixed.

I can get around to it soon, maybe even narrowing it down to the mod causing the error today. Personally, I didn't want to comb through all the mods, hoping to find a quick and easy solution. Although, if a new incompatibility is the case, I can try my best to help and find the mod.

Okay, so even with no mods, except sexbound (folder, not .pak) and "sexbound-aphrodites-bow-6.2.0.pak", it was still crashing (log). Yet another attempt, but this time I deleted the storage file, resetting the universe and players, and then turning off running in admin mode, but it was still to no avail. Same crash, no matter what I do. Next thing I am trying is verifying integrity of game files and then try again. I haven't gotten around to testing it again, but I can do that after I wake up.

Quick question, but, are you using Sexbound Reborn? If so, did you perhaps forget to get the patch for the Aphrodite's Bow to work with it? I see a similar issue (Same error leading to crash) with people who have installed the Aphrodite's Bow patch improperly in another thread, so it maybe related.

It's just regular Sexbound, and I'll redownload and install it again just to make sure.

 

-Progress report one:

     I went into steam's properties for Starbound and verified the games files. After reinstalling "starbound-sexbound-latest" and "sexbound-aphrodites-bow-6.2.0", adding "NekiSxB" (because I use the Neki Race), I went into the outpost to start a sex scene. When I got to the climax scene, there was no crash or being sent back to my ship. This is after I installed around 350+ of my mods again and used the Imbued Aphrodite's Bow (log). Next, I'm going to reinstall the rest of my mods, and then I'll see what happens.

-Progress report two:

     After reinstalling the rest of the 50+ mods, I launched my game through steam, loaded into the random Neki character, and then headed to the outpost to do yet another sex scene with the npc's. When I went to go and click on the bars to climax for both mine and the other npc's climax... there were no crashes or being sent back to my ship? I'm quite confused about it, and here is the log if you do want to look at it (pastebin is being difficult with the log due to "potentially offensive content", so here is a dropbox link instead, sorry for the inconvenience).

    The only thing I really have to note is that npc's that were edited/added by Crudebound didn't react to Aphrodite's Bow. Although not too big of something, I think I'll keep the mod in favor for what it adds. Next up would be to see if I could load my old save that was crashing into this, just to see if others can keep all of their progress after wiping the game due to this crash.

 

-Progress report three:

     After deleting the old storage folder and transferring the old storage folder/save, I started up Starbound, selected my character, and loaded into my ship. I headed to the place where I started to notice the crashes with Sexbound, the Aphrodite's Retreat boss fight. After completing the boss fight once again, I went to have sex with Aphrodite, and paid close attention to everything. When I went to climax for both sides... no crashes, again? It seems like reinstalling Starbound and Sexbound fixed whatever went wrong. Even with all of the same mods, there were no crashes or being sent back to the ship.

     The log is here (same case here, pastebin being difficult, so here's another dropbox link, the log being named starbound2.log to avoid any conflicts)

 

-For a full walkthrough of what I did to fix this issue:

>Went into my Steam library, found "Starbound", right-clicked on the name, and then selected "Manage"->"Browse local files"

>Backed up all of the mods in the "mods" folder

>Backed up all of the files in the "storage" folder

>Went back into Steam, selected "Starbound" once again, and then right-clicked on the name, and selected "Properties..."

>In the new pop-up, I selected "Local Files", and selected the "Verify integrity of game files..." option

>Steam then re-downloads Starbound, and after that, I went ahead and right-clicked on "Starbound", and then selected "Manage"->"Browse local files" (if you have Futara's Dragon Pixel Full Bright Shader, don't forget to take it out of the workshop folder and put it into the "mods" folder)

>In that folder, I went ahead and replaced the "storage" and "mods" folders with the ones backed up

>In the mods folder, delete Sexbound, and then redownload it from here ("starbound-sexbound-latest.src.zip" recommended)

>Install Sexbound from the downloaded .zip file into the "mods" folder (create a folder named "sexbound" to put it into)

>Startup the game, and hopefully everything works now, because that's what fixed my game

 

     That should be everything I did, and I made sure to flesh it out as much as I could so that there won't (hopefully) be much confusion. Thank you so much for your help, and if you need anything else from me, I'll try to check this page after I wake up.

StarExtension is not a "mod" mod. It's a dll injected code modification to Starbound itself.

Even though we don't have any proof right now, seeing as you reinstalled Starbound itself (hence removing all possible changes StarExtension could have made) and because others have reported that being the reason for the exact same crash you experienced, I'll still have to consider that possibility.

 

Best indicator to go off of would be - when you got yeeted to your shipworld and fell into the endless void, did your character have vapor trails?

StarExtension! Yes, I did have that installed. A link would have told me what it was faster, but now that you mentioned vapor trails, I do understand what you are talking about.
