darkdill Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I've made a request for the outfit below to be converted to BBP/TBBP several times now, but no one has gotten around to it. I know people have other mods they're working on, but you'd think someone would have done it by now. The big problem I have with this outfit mod is that it CTDs if used with a BBP/TBBP skeleton. That REALLY sucks. And yes, BruceWayne, I have used your topic for the request, multiple times. No response yet, and I need the outfit to bounce/work for my next playthrough as a vampire dark witch. (That, and I need the outfit to have breast bones so I can increase their size with the Racemenu mod). Witch of the Wild by RavenDier What I'd like to know is whether it's a good idea (or actually allowed) to offer a monetary reward for mod jobs like these, and if so, how I would go about paying someone to do it (i.e. Paypal). Any advice? Or anyone willing to help out? EDIT: The modder has given consent for people to edit the outfit, as long as he is credited. You can check his permissions on the Nexus page.
Liuli Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Modders generally try not to make conversions of existing armors without the express permission of the mod creator. If a modder converts anything, it's almost always due to their own passions fitting with an idea they saw, more often than not they'll just come up with ideas themselves. Commissions are not a good idea. Modding doesn't quite work like art commissioning. In the end of the day modders create content for a specific game, and if they charge money for it it puts them in very murky legal water. They can be sued, and since people have created mods/servers in the past (for other games, neverwinter nights for example) which were basically money making schemes, and got sued, that's not a good idea to consider. Sure, commissioning fan art for trademarked characters is also slightly murky legally, but it's far more accepted in this day and age.

(You can see them on the mod page as well.) Author notes Because I'v used CBBE and UNP files in this MOD, so I cant give you promission to upload this MOD to other site. Other then that, you can use my meshes, textures, scripts and so on freely as long as you credit me, no need to ask premission. File credits GENZOMAN is one of my most favorite artists, this is the first time I use his/her painting as concept to model. If you like this mod, the credit is his/her.Caliente's body MOD is always my first choice, a big thanks. UNP give me more choice, another exellent body MOD, another big thanks to the DIMONIZED. Since the "wicked" EA bought Bioware, Bethesda became my favorite. Thanks for the great game. I don't think there's any problems with CBBE/UNP file use here (he probably misunderstands that part, unless I'm mistaken). But he gives his consent to modify the outfit as long as he is credited. (Sorry, they didn't come out the same way as on Nexus.)
Spyder Arachnid Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 You seem to assume that someone is obligated to do your request for you. They are not. Modders are not at your beckon call. They don't do request just because you told them to do it. They do what they want to do, because they want to do it. There is nothing at all saying that a modder WILL do your request. Your request is just an idea. No one is obligated to fill your request. All you are doing is making a suggestion. If no one does it, then oh well. Again, no one is obligated to do it. So before you start saying: I've made a request for the outfit below to be converted to BBP/TBBP several times now, but no one has gotten around to it. I know people have other mods they're working on, but you'd think someone would have done it by now. Remember that you are only making a suggestion. There is no guarantee that it will be done, so don't expect it to ever get done. I have made a few request myself and they have never been filled. And I don't care that they haven't either. No one is obligated to do them, they are just ideas that the community throws out there for anyone that may want to do them. Modders have their own things going on. They are not here to wait hand and foot on you for your requests and only do what we want them to do. This is why most modders quit or stop releasing content. Because people hound them for things and expect them to do stuff for them. If you are making a request several times over and over, stop. Obviously no one is interested in taking up the project or they don't have the time/knowledge to do it. Instead, learn how to do it yourself. It is the only way to get it done if no one is answering your request. No sense spamming the same thing over and over again, when you can take the time to learn to do it yourself.
DoctaSax Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Requests go in the thread for requests; you already know this. If you request something a few times and there are no takers, then I'm afraid you're just out of luck. Closing it down. For the record, LL is a free modding community - accepting money for mods is a sore subject, both in terms of other modders not asking for any, causing bad blood, as well as the legal aspect.
