castledragon90 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hello everyone. I am a brand spanking new member to the modding world and would greatly appreciate any help that can be sent my way. I would like to learn how to, and of course do, install the various mods you great folk have blessed us with. I will list what would be most helpful below. - Must have Tutorials, or anything that could help me learn the ins and outs of y'alls lovely world of mods, I have no experience in this regard. New character models, I want my character to be as gorgeous as possible. Meaty butt is a big plus. Links, or at least information of the various mods that must be installed for a memorable experience. Mod Manager, I know there are multiple and each has its own ups and downs so please give me the one that's best in your opinion. -Wanted Bestiality mods(Found, Lover's Creatures, and Lover's Bitch) Monster Girls mods(Found, Monster Girl coc 1.3) Custom races mods -Not necessary, but appreciated Environmental textures, I don't care so much for the surroundings to look good, just the npcs I'll be interacting with and my character. Any tips and hints for the mods I listed as found already. I left them up there to see if y'all have any comment about how they run, how good they are, if they're difficult to get working, and if they don't work well with other listed mods. Anything you personally feel will better my experience, whether it be a mod that you think is a step above the rest or anything else. Thank you in advance for any contribution you make to help me get my mod world going, it is greatly appreciated and if I can ever do anything to return the favor I will do so without hesitation, for it will be my privilege.
Guest Spikes Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 since you're new in modding i suggest you read this thread. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1469570-must-have-mods/ . Doubiousness on second post gives excellent advices how to start and proceed, and excellent threads you can read. I'd read the posts in the thread very carefully and proceed carefully, they will save you lots of time, if you proceed on heaiviy adding stuff. Read the sticky's on our LL threads too. Specially for MBP and Lovers mods. To change the Vanilla NPCS (not the ones that mods add) : MBP ( puts many many custom races in OBL)+ ES74's Unique Race&NPCs. It covers many in a less anime style, but not all. You'll find both here with a little search. Or Xeosp++, you'll find it here too. it's compatible with MBP if you want to use both. It covers almost all NPCs in anime style .Or Oblivion Character Overhaul (search it on Nexus it's recent) MBP does nothing on it's own. that's why i put MBP + Es74's. You can add like 300 more people in Oblivion with From2ch Lives mod. It needs MBP intalled first, uses it's races. Mod Manager : OBMM and Wrye Bash ( great guide here http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/35230/?). Install them both, 99,99% you only need Wrye, it's the BEST!!! but sometimes OBMM is handy. Mods you found allready are okey, totally depends on what you prefer to use, we all have our preferences. Read the stickies on what the mods need. Some mods have dads and moms (meaning they need some other mods instaled first). Important: always read the readmes, always, the awsome creators here add them for good reason. You will need, no matter what : a mod to have better game interface : Darnfied ui (this one install it with OBMM , it's one of the very few OBMM installs better) OBSE version 20. 95% of all good mods use it. Elys USV, Oblivion stutter remover and all mods that Lovers mods need. They are used for many other mods(the mods Lovers need). you can read them here http://www.loverslab.com/topic/8893-installation-guide-with-lovers-mbp-and-wyre-with-bashed-patch/ Oblivion has a system that when you become level 2, all enemies become level 2, if you become level 10 all enemies are level 10 etc etc. If you find it too easy, or hard, you can look for mods to change this. I won't suggest one, do a small search here and on Bethesda forums for overhauls. I will suggest you play a few levels first vanilla to decide if you need one. Monstergirl - CoC. It's good but i'd play first Vanilla a bit, so you can make the difference between with and without. Meaty bottoms : Many many bodies haha. Most people in LL use DMRA. Big nice boobs and one full round lovely heartily butt. Nephenee13 DMRA is the totally awsome DMRA one. It's dancing Boob mode friendly activate too, but you need a mod to activate them ( NoMaaM BBB Animation Replacer, look for it on Nexus and here) Most popular in general is HGEC body (but the bottom isn't meaty much) If you install Setbody Reloaded (no words can describe the awsomness) here in LL, you can use a spell to change bodies on yourself (and NPCs if you like), without changing everyone's body. You can use it to find what body you like more. some people (and me) have lag with this mod, some don't, still it's awsome still very helpfull. (imagine a mod with 500 different bodies/combination!) Environmental stuff : Too many to list really. Many people use Quarl's pack. Easy to find. Find the quarl's textures redimized, eats less fps. things you'll need to know is : Depending on how many mods you add, you will have some fps loss. That's unavoidable. So you have to make a choice at some point, if you add too many big ones( quarl for example, or 2k-4k high quality textures for bodies etc or huge mods that add many stuff) Oblivion uses 1 core only sadly so the stronger pc you have the better. Good card helps too. Many people love Better citties Mod, it adds stuff on cities (lol). Unique Landscapes transform OBL country. They are heavy mods. I don't use them now, but they are excellent (i need the fps snif). Arhmoor - brasher- they make great quality story mods. Wish you good luck and let us know how it goes.

Greatly appreciated my friend. I will scan every link heavily and use this post as a base to get myself going. I played Vanilla Oblivion tons before and am pretty good at it so I don't believe it's necessary but I will still take your word on playing it for a bit before installing major mods. I will also install the mods one by one, and test them out individually just in case one ends up clashing with another I'll know which one it is that's incompatible. If it comes down to decisions of which mods to keep and which to save I'll more than likely trash environmental ones first. For the sake of simplicity I'm getting a digital copy of the best edition which I own the CD for anyway, do you believe that might inhibit my ability to properly use mods?
Guest Spikes Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Well since you have played vanilla i think you are good to go with installing big mods, sorry about that, had the impression you were starting Obl. I like environmental mods, to me the make the game richer. If you would like to experiment with them a bit,and use Wrye Bash it's quite easy to install and uninstall them, since Wrye bash has a lit kinda like "A B C" tree textures installed, the C replaces some stuff from B, if you install the C Wrye tells you which ones he replaces from B,and if you decide to uninstall the C he reverts the B changes back. take a look on Qtp3, http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/18677/? (lovely textures and easy on fps), Personally i use 1) Rpg's low poly grass mod (makes better fps with grass) 2) then used the textures only of Oblivion grass overhaul, makes a ton of difference in looks.and anything by miknemel1 (look nexus, his stuff is amazing). I also change textures in Imperial city by Ryu Doppler, cause IC looks too shiney to me. I have some others too, but the ones i mentioned alone will make your eyes swim in beauty compared to vanilla. (i use others for caves, aylied ruins). The combo above gives obl warmer tone iimo, Other people like it colder toned so use other mods. but you get the point. So much variety. Water mods, All Natural weather, Animated window lightning system (has no fps loss at all) they all add good stuff in the game. If you have the physical game with shiv islands and Knights, i wouldn't buy the digital, unless you want the rest DLcs. I own both and to me it seems physical is more sturdy. Digital can use all the mods perfectly fine, and many many people have it digital with zero problems, just my personal opinion.
