Osex/ostim vs Sexlab 2023 and onward.

Should I make the switch to Ostim/Osex or is it still very limited? I love sexlab mods like SLHH, Babodialogue, fill her up etc... is there any alternative? it's just that sexlab is really script heavy especially in my LO with 500+ mods.

 

I heard you can use them all together, should I just cut down on most sexlab mods and use only the ones I really want and install OSTIM on top or should I just stick with sexlab if the (performance increase is negligible)

 

one more thing, how do the animations pack count in ostim? I'm almost at my limit since I use ADXP/DMCO and 3-4 animations packs for sexlab.

SL and 0whatever aren't exclusive.  You can use both.

Okay, if you get the SLAL variants of 0stim, they should be accessing the same base of animations, so anim count shouldn't go up much (if at all).  As far as SL being script heavy, yes in comparison to 0sex it is, but if you are doing the sex in controlled environments (ir, not the middle of Whiterun market), then it shouldn't matter much.

thanks for the answers, so mods that add script events should not matter really much if sex scenes are in controlled enviroments? Good enough I still don't see the appeal to add OSTIM to my game then.

Depends on the mod and the way the scripts are written.  In general, assuming the scripts aren't garbage, then it shouldn't be a problem.

SL is just an animation framework for sex anims, 0Sex is a framework for more specific human-human semi-romantic encounters where the actors share the same scales, etc.  It is more scenic and smooth to use, but far less variable.  They're both great for what they were made for.

Pretty much everything available for OStim is in the OStim NG description/guide. There are some good alternatives there. But you can see a clear difference in the number of mods and potential interactions for OStim and SL mods.

I don't think a single of the converted SL animations for OStim uses the same file paths. So your animation count will go up.

As Seijin8 already said: SL and OStim were designed for different purposes and they both exceed the other in the purpose they were made for. The question is what do you want? If all you care for is DD/rape/creature stuff SL has everything you need. If you want more sensual/romantic interactions between two consenting humans then OStim can offer you a much better experience at that than SL.
