MissRoseanna Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) I'm using Collygon's Battle Wounds, and I'd like to combine multiple bruises into one as the number of overlays is limited. I tried searching but I haven't found anything so far. Would anyone know how to do it? I have the .dds files, I assume it's as simple as merging them/putting one on top of another? There's also a .json file, not sure if I need to do something to that too Sorry if it's a stupid question, but any help would be appreciated, even a basic method, or which program to use. Thanks Edited December 27, 2022 by MissRoseanna

Danke what game is it anyway? ?

Assuming that you're talking about Skyrim - do you really need to combine overlays, or would assigning more slots help? In the latter case, I quote what I found somewhere on LL and copied in my diary w/o making a note where I found it (sigh) Quote You probably have too few slots assigned to overlays in data\SKSE\plugins\nioverride.ini (LE) or skee64.ini (SE). Make sure you change those settings in the file: section [Overlays] bEnableFaceOverlays to 1 instead of 0 section [Overlays/Body] iNumOverlays to 30 instead of 6 section [Overlays/Hands] iNumOverlays to 20 instead of 3 section [Overlays/Feet] iNumOverlays to 20 instead of 3 section [Overlays/Face] iNumOverlays to 20 instead of 3

The LE version I'd need to combine overlays, because for some reason the max number of body overlays is 12 in SlaveTats. In the Race Menu it shows up as 12, but it doesn't show any textures in the list, only SlaveTats does. Edited December 27, 2022 by tssxr

You need a program that can edit .dds files which Skyrim uses for textures. Paint.net is probably the simplest to use, although GIMP or Photoshop would also work. Open the overlay texture you want to use as the combined one, then copy and paste each of the other overlays into a new layer. When you have all of them, merge the layers into a single layer and then save it. You should now be able to use this one texture with all of the different overlays merged together.

I downloaded that app and after like 15 minutes of trial and error, I managed to do it! I just have to keep it as the same name as one of the original tats though. Thank you so much!
