(GRAMMAR WARNING IM DYSLEXIC I TRIED)

Hey so I'm fairly new to modding and I can't seem to get the animations to function correctly. Every time I try and install FNIS creature pack I receive \character\behaviors\FNIS_FNISCreatureVersion_Behavior.hkx not Skyrim SE compatible. this only appears when I install FNIS creature pack which I'm getting from Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) here. is there something I'm missing or is my load order messed up? I don't know I'm just confused and google isn't helping.

1. You're not running SSE but rather AE.
2. The link you gave is for FNIS for LE.

Edit: Does FNIS for SE work on AE? Don't know, you'd have to test that yourself as I never "upgraded" to AE.

Yes, not much (nothing?) changed in regards to animations in 1.6+ patches. The same tools and fixes apply. As long as the mods don't involve outdated skse plugins (like DAR) they'll work fine.

 

The link indeed is for FNIS for LE. The solution is removing the Creature pack you already have installed and get the proper one. Remember to search for already ported mods, or even better the Skyrim SE nexusmods site, not just "Skyrim" (because that's the 2011 one, not the one you have).

Check your versions again, the OP was trying to run the LE version on SSE/AE. If versions are fine then verify that your checksums match:
