ther1pper Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) I'm very sure it can be done, I just don't know how to do it. Could anyone give me detailed instructions on how to add tattoos from stuff like KJ Tattoos to a skin texture for a standalone follower? edit: Nevermind I figured it out. have Gimp DDS plugin Open Tattoos in one file Open Skin in another Make sure Tattoo image is the same layer size as skin, if not change it(Image > Scale Image). Copy and paste tattoo over to skin file. If they are the same layer size, it will line up perfectly. Go to colors > colorize while selecting the tattoo layer, change the color, press OK. Export as DDS, set compression as "BC1 / DXT1", Mipmaps as "Generate mipmaps". Move new skin DDs to correct area. Done. Edited December 13, 2022 by ther1pper

It's really simple if you just want to make it part of the skin texture. Open the skin in gimp/ps, create a new layer, open the tattoo in this layer, then merge both of the layers together and save. Remember that the tattoo and skin texture need to have the same resolution.
myuhinny Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Another way is to use paint-net which is free and similar to photoshop. Then you can load the skin texture into it and then load the tattoo texture and make sure to select open the image which will then load the tattoo texture into another slot. Now you can copy the tattoo texture from the tattoo image and then click on the skin texture and paste the tattoo texture in once you do that then you can scale rotate and adjust the tattoo texture to where you want it on the body. If you want to place one on a seam it'll take a lot more work though as you'll have to make sure the tattoo matches up at the seam. 1
