Meat might end up being a bit pricey, but shouldn't be too bad. Yes, the price of meat isn't going down, is it? Nevertheless, follow this recipe to the letter and it doesn't matter if it's a 4 pound or a 9 pound roast (larger just be ready to ventilate a bit to avoid setting off smoke alarms, but don't worry it is doing what it's supposed to - can confirm from personal exp many times now) Note - you have to have a modern type oven with a good seal (in other words, not an old cast iron type of oven) Additional note: pay attention to the bit about leaving roast out for half a day to get to room temp before cooking. NEVER cook fridge-cold beef, always get it to room temp for tenderness. Extra note: get that oven good and hot at 500 degrees - preheat then give it another 10 minutes so the oven walls really absorb and hence retain that heat over the cook time and subsequent two hours while the oven is off. Extra extra note: if you followed the recipe to the letter, trust it. It's hard, you may have your doubts but don't peek, don't worry.

A few years ago, I was on course in Colorado (they have a sweet facility about 45 minutes south of Pueblo for hazmat training - get to play with a whole full scale smashed up 80-car train, on fire no less :) and there was a restaurant that seduced me to the ways of a green chili. It was served with a fresh, warm pretzel and wash it down with a cold glass of beer -- woooWEE! This style chili left them all in the dust! So I reverse engineered it to the best of my ability when I got back to Toronto and came pretty damn close. The trouble is, here it can be tough to find Anaheim chili peppers or Poblano Peppers not in a can, same as tomatillos. I subbed long green peppers (mild hot) I grow myself for the Anaheims and really simmered down pork tenderloin (then later in another batch, ground pork/beef in a 3:1 ratio which was alos very good) instead of pork shoulder but otherwise generally stuck to this little gem of a recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/218772/mile-high-green-chili/ Note to beginners in the kitchen: this recipe is a lot of work. It's not difficult but the prep time stated in the recipe is BS unless you're an experienced chef. It's worth it though, IMO, just be aware to set aside the better part of a morning to prep it all up and the remainder of the day to simmer in the deliciousness. Maaaaaan, we don't need no steenking man card! Cheech/OFF And that's why I use the canned chili, makes the meal quick to make and the four cans cost about $9. Edited December 1, 2022 by Krolista

Because if I had any actual choice, I would have joined right after High School. But to my dismay, because of being diagnosed with 'Manic Depression', 'Bipolar' as it's know known, at age 11; I was required to take medicine on a regular basis (which was a disqualifier), not to mention the mental illness itself (which was also another disqualifier). So you can go ahead and place blinded blame on people you know nothing about. Or you can learn from the mistake you just made. It's your choice. I hope you make the correct one, and cease being a jackass.

Having a certain skill don't make anyone more or less anything. It only means that they lack that skill. Weather it be cooking, computer programing, playing a sport, or whatever. It's not the skill that makes the man, it's the man that makes the man.

If you fight depression, you will lose 100% of the time.

And it's one of the many reasons a lot of others can't stand to be around me. Just the way I speak, which is the same way I type, makes people somewhat sad, depressed, or sometimes just angry. It's like the scene in the movie 'As Good as It Gets(1997)' when Carol Connelly says to Melvin Udall: "I don't think I want to know you anymore Melvin. All you do is make me feel bad about myself." And is one reason I like that movie so much as well. I can really relate with Melvin. I just wish I could find my 'Carol Connelly' like he did.

Before it nearly killed me, I thought it was mental weakness or a character defect that one had to "bootstrap" one's way out of, as was part of my religious indoctrination as a child. With education and medication, I now live a fairly normal life though much of that includes not leaving the house much as a way of controlling my environment. My condition has been re-diagnosed as dysthymia (classified as a 'less-severe, long lasting depression' as depression itself should not last more than two years) as well as generalized social anxiety and OCD. I'm also autistic (Aspergers) on top of all that so I'm really not built to fit into the world.

You can still turn things around though cause i don't believe anyone should just accept that as is, people aren't meant to be depressed like that. Medication, therapy, a good social network, good hygiene and good diet, exercising, good fashion, proper sleep schedule, trying to keep an open mind, interesting hobbies that push you out of the comfort zone, the whole "fake it till you make it" stuff, you can do quite a lot to gain control over most of your life. Like the other guy said depression never truly goes away but you can at least push it into a minuscule state and keep it that way if you try.

I fully understand bro, but i still think the idea that "i'm not meant to fit in" is misguided and destructive. You shouldn't accept things just like that, you gotta try to turn things around and do your best so you can at least push most of the negatives out of your system. And it'll be hard as fuck to pull of so easier said than done but if you don't try nothing will get better so why not try? That's what i say at least. Life doesn't last forever and there is no restart.

Most of the time we are designated as 'born criminals', simply because of the amount of news stories that blame mental illness for whatever crime was committed. 2 hours ago, Mr. Otaku said: Yeah i'm not surprised. Well... I had medication shoved down my thought up until my early 20s by my parents. After that I started to outright refuse any of it. The reason is simply because I don't trust any of those pills anymore. Not after one of them had me outright projectile vomiting; And another one that more recently had a civil lawsuit attached to it because of a side effect, that was basically the 'main effect' of gender transition drugs. And then a 3rd that just made me gain weight that I still can't get rid of. Because I have a very high metabolism normally, and that pill just kicked it to the curb. As soon as I was off it, I dropped a bunch of weight, and I didn't do a single thing to cause it; But some remained. So yeah... I don't trust pills, the entire 'medical establishment', or really anything or anyone associated with it. Started with a diagnoses of Bipolar, ended with a case of trauma. Kinda typical with the 'Legal drug dealers' these days. 1
