I remember my retail/food service days. We used to rotate tables on the patio, and I took one...completely forgot they were out there. I got slammed on my section all at once and ooooops left them out there until they ended up leaving.

I think that would be an easy mistake for anyone to make. Especially if the table wasn't in your 'regular section'. Not to mention that section getting overwhelmed (are you sure the host/hostess wasn't angry with you?).

No one liked picking up patio, so I usually volunteered (more money lol). It was a small place, so getting triple sat was pretty common. Just spaced that one table lol.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but yeah I was a better bartender. Easier to stay focused, and V necks never hurt lol.

Mind translating that for those of us that don't speak symbol?

It just means laughing, people use "?" all the time to express that they're laughing about something cause it's an expression of "died from laughing". So "i died" or "i'm dead bruh" are also phrases used alongside the skull sometimes to express laughter.

Edit: Wait, how did you not know already? lol

As I said, I don't speak symbol. I'm far too old to learn what you kids mean with some 'skull eggplant banana' combo or whatever. English is already common all over the net, so I'll stick with that.

Just out of curiosity how old are you?

Very interesting way to answer that question.

Thanks. But I have to admit it's not mine. It was how 'Chris Kringle' answered that same question in the 1947 version of the movie 'Miracle on 34th St.'.

Are you also as old as your tung and a little older than your teeth?

Well, let's just say that I have a fondness for 80 year old (79 years to be exact) movies. I ain't as old as the movie itself; But I do remember a time before the remakes started pouring out.

Fair enough, i don't mind remakes inherently but doing too many of them can get out of hand especially when not done correctly. But it's easy money so it's here to stay so it is what it is.

Well I do have a problem with the '94 remake of 'Miracle on 34th St.', the one with Mara Wilson. If it wasn't the extreme changes made to the story, it was the fact that Mara Wilson all throughout looked... Well let's just say that that word 'abused' fits quite well, and leave it at that. Probably a good thing she quit acting after that.

It's A Wonderful Life is one of the greatest films in history. Acting, Story and Cinematography are incredible.

You weren't ghosted. They either lost your chit/order, or gave it to someone else by accident. It happens sometimes.

There's more than a few movies I can't watch because of the title. But that ain't one of them.

I agree, it's a good movie. But I'd have to admit that it's not one of my personal favorites.

Probably not bothering to learn to cook for yourself.

I mean the only thing I can make is fried eggs, and sandwiches

Lots of easy recipes online. Try allrecipes.com. Cooking is literally the easiest skill to learn. Here are some tips:

1. Don't overcomplicate it. Start simple - easy pasta dishes, mashed potatoes, things like that.

2. Recipe spice quantities don't need to be exact EXCEPT if you're baking. Otherwise, close enough is good enough.

3. Butter is your friend. Throw away that axle grease/margarine garbage

4. Speaking of fats, olive oil is good for salad dressings and such, but careful when cooking with it. It smokes and burns at low temp. Use sunflower oil for good all around sub

5. Unless you're boiling water, don't use HIGH on your stove for really anything. Medium heat to cook, low to simmer or hold things at cooked/finished temp

6. Air fryers are great, as is a good slow cooker (and recipe book for slow cooker). You like fries and such? Add frozen fries to 2 minutes preheated air fryer with no extra oil at all,

cook in air fryer for about 18 minutes at 390-400 degrees, tossing every 3 or 4 minutes. Sprinkle salt lightly on fries in a bowl/plate once cooked. There's one complete recipe right        there.

7. Penultimate tip: don't walk away from your cooking to do a bunch of other stuff. Stay with it, watch it, try different things like cook times or spices.

8. Last tip: for god's sake, man, learn to cook. It's an important skill in building self respect.

Far as easy to fix, fairly cheap food goes, I've found an easy one.

One box of the Ragu cheddar cheese sauce, 2 lbs (.9 kg) ground beef, one box of pasta, and one package of taco seasoning.

Brown beef with the taco seasoning, boil pasta, mix cheese sauce into browned ground beef, mix pasta into cheese and beef mix. You can add some shredded cheddar on top if you want. Depending on how much you eat at a time, you can get 3-4 meals out of it, and it reheats good.

A perfect prime rib roast (and I do mean perfect) is no more difficult than that recipe.

It's actually a quote from the Batman Animated Movie that came out in the mid 90s. Whenever I see this film mentioned (that I've never seen), this is my go-to response because I thought it hilarious when Bruce Wayne said it, and think it's hilarious now.

Hunh interesting, might have to try that sometime. Thanks!

Meat might end up being a bit pricey, but shouldn't be too bad.

Oh another simple two pot meal.

Heat like 4 cans of chili (I like the Hormel chunky chili, it's cheap, nourishing, and doesn't have too much weird stuff in it) in a large skillit or frying pan (bigger is better) on medium or medium low heat.

Boil one box of pasta (rigatoni noodles work good)

Mix pasta into heated chili, let it sit covered for like 5-10 minutes on medium or medium low heat.

Add some cheese if you want.

Spoon it out onto a plate and consoooom.

(This reheats really good, either in the microwave or on the stovetop.)
