The world of this game is very exciting to explore. So far I'm loving this game.

I'm only level 4 and the only quest I've done is the one in Arefu. I am blown away by the world. The post apocalypse world is so well done. I don't know how to describe it but I'm absolutely fascinated by this world and couldn't contain my excitement. I suppose I'd need more tips though. I'm playing ttw with some mods like simple diseases and other common ones. I like the green UI so have a mod for that. My character is starting out with high intelligence and charisma.

This game seems to be similar to Oblivion in scale. Is it? Also, i haven't met any factions except that "vampire" one from the family. Which ones are the best (with less focus on combat)?

Everything you could ever need to know about these games-all-in-one has been discussed and outlined in various places for many years now. Two good sized maps base game with all dlc added plus whatever mods you install make this game world huge to say the least. Only thing I would suggest to get the most out of this much content and places to explore is a mod nerfing experience gain so you don't level too quickly. Where you go or how you play it doesn't really matter since that's what the game is all about.

Yeah, leveling too fast tends to make it so random encounters get killed before you can meet them. I recommend a mod that nerfs some of the higher-level Rad Scorpions, like Casual Encounters. Broken Steel added too many of some creatures that were just too overpowered for NPCs to handle.

Had a mod that added giant albino rad scorps to my game that were damn near invincible and killed every npc in an area they spawned. Had to X-edit them outta the mod since I liked the rest of the additions. Think it was MMM. It was funny in the mod's thread users were complaining about them and asking "Why giant albino rad scorps? Do you hate us?".

Speaking of late game atrocities, there's a mod that makes the traveling traders essential, which I always found handy. Otherwise they start dying around level 15 or so.

yeah, the game does reach a point where you need to work very hard to keep NPCs alive.

 

Man, I'll never forget my first playthrough of FO3. Honestly, I think the best way to play it is with no DLC.

And miss all the goodies including the double barrel shotgun I blast fools with? Nah....  besides, I put the unique (somewhat) OP version back in my game calling it "Dixie Delight".
