Yes. The mod only changes the outfit, you still have to actually be wearing it in game to see anything different. If the mod specifically affects the Featherman outfit for example, nothing is going to look different when you're still wearing the regular Phantom Thief outfit in game. Iirc, your equipped outfit only appears in the metaverse unless you A) use another mod to override the real world clothes with your equipped costume, or B) manually copy the modded files you want to use (example: nude Ann) and paste that into a folder for the outfit you want to replace (example: Shujin Winter uniform).

Quick question, I downloaded and installed the seminude mod by No Victus which had a BustUp Folder, but it doesn't seem to change the bust speaking portrait or does it do something different?

The contents of @Not_Victus's BUSTUP folder is exclusively nude portraits for Sumi, no other characters included.  They also have a lot of compression artifacts, so you should use Mr. Downbad's set instead.  They won't strictly match the seminude models since the bustups are completely bare from the shoulders up instead of being a shirt with tits out, but if you want bustups with nudity, that's the way to go.

Unfortunately I'm a technician, I'm not an artist, so my mod is only an extension of an existing mod: all I did was copy, paste, resize, and rename the Overworld nude portraits that had already been drawn by @Mr. Downbad so that they'd be naked as Phantom Thieves, and not just in daily life.  I lack the skill to draw new assets, so to get nude portraits for anyone besides the female thieves would require the intervention of somebody who can draw.  I'd love to see more nude portraits for the female cast as well, but that's simply beyond my power.

I've discovered that there a couple problems with some of Ann's Assist portraits, so I'll republish once I've got them fixed.  I've also realized that all my files are like 4x the size of the game's originals and the reason is because I've been encoding my files inefficiently, so I'll be re-encoding and repackaging them all later.  Might save some system resources/reduce load time, so look forward to the newer, more efficient version!

 

Once I've got things figured out for PC, I'll consider making a Switch version, but I don't know of the actual differences between Switch and PC for how the bustup files are handled.  If anyone can share a quick-and-dirty on the types and severity of differences, I'd really appreciate it.

File size is just something you'll have to deal with. I used RGBA8 encoded DDS textures. Anything else causes it to look like shit.

 

Bustup files aren't structurally different on Switch. Each image is exactly half the size. Check out my guide if you're confused. (Yes it's me, I have a different name for sfw, this isn't miscrediting)

Im not sure if that outfit has the nude portrait or not but her summer school uniform still is normal, Im not really sure what the file names for each portrait so Im just wondering if it's there or if my game is bugging

I had been using RGBA8 as well, but some experimenting showed me that Paint.NET's BC7 (Linear, DX 11+) gave identical DDS files with sizes that match the originals from both the games and your assets.  Only files with transparent regions saw a size reduction, and larger transparent regions give larger size reductions.  (For reference, the base portraits in v1 were ~10MB each, while original game assets and your redraws are ~2.5MB each).

 

Thanks for the link to the guide, seems like it should be simple to adapt my mods once I've got things ironed out.

I don't know if there's a published table for Bustup IDs, and the file naming convention is hard to describe, but one easy check to differentiate between the two mods is the middle 3 digits of the file ID.  The middle 3 digits of a Phantom Thief outfit will always start with a 1 (for example, B004_101_00 is Ann's Phantom Thief happy face).  All non-Phantom Thief outfits will have their middle 3 digits start with something other than a 1 (B004_002_02 is Ann's Summer Uniform angry face).

 

Do not confuse this with my Nude Assist Portraits mod, which only applies to the popup textboxes that appear in the upper right of the screen (such as while playing darts or exploring the Metaverse).

Oh, I didn't look at the images clearly to see they were in the metaverse. I guess I didn't see them with the masks on and just assumed they were in the normal world, sorry about that.

Hi, I'm kind of new to modding, I've been planning on making mods in the future but I'm not really sure how to start finding tutorials on what I want to do is hard here so I'll just ask like that. I want to make "new outfits" I don't know if it's possible but I want something like this but for multiple characters and I want to do it myself. So basically I want to help to that, the pictures are a bit weird but you guys are used to nude mods anyway.

Kimonos only appear in specific events. If you want to use the kimono in normal scenes, you need to rename the file to replace other outfits, but the sleeves won't look good.

I'm gonna link a couple of the things that helped me get started.

 

There's this video that shows you how to make a model that can be imported, but not necessarily rigged. It also has links in the comments to some resources that will be helpful for you. I do believe the creator of the video is opposed to these sorts of mods though, so I wouldn't be asking them for any help directly if you come across problems:

I'm using blender instead of 3DSMAX but it applies generally to both. You will need an add-on in both cases to start importing models to the program of your choice.

Those should be enough to help you get started. A lot of it will be trial and error and how far your curiosity pushes you to learn about using the program. I know there's a couple people on this thread that have made some neat things just because they found a new tool to experiment with in blender. It's a lot of experimenting and smashing pieces together until something neat gets made. I hope this is enough to get you started!
