Culuf Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I'm thinking Skyrim and Fallout 4 must be coded to shut down at these temps. No freezes. Just CTD at 60C. When playing Dead by Daylight (though yes more modern), it never crashes even above 80C. I have an overclocker just to max the fans speed to cool it down but my CPU still heats up after a little game time in FO4. Is there any sort of mod fix to prevent the program from shutting down?
KoolHndLuke Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 (edited) That can't be right. My poor little cpu has been hotter than that many times and FO4 didn't ctd. Ā Ā Edited October 14, 2022 by KoolHndLuke
27X Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 excessive draw calls handle differently depending on hardware.
Culuf Posted October 16, 2022 Author Posted October 16, 2022 (edited) I mean, it did this frequently on my old Nvidia GTX 650ti. Way below the recommended specs so it made sense. So I have a Nvidia GTX 1050ti. Not modern but above the recommended 780. Oldrim Skyrim was Nvidia 280 recommended. But only my Bethesda gamesĀ (Fallout 4 and Skyrim) still shut down the program at 60C. Also sorry if I made it seem exactly 60C. More like around that temp. Sometimes it's 70C when it cuts out. It's a nuisance for years now. Edited October 16, 2022 by Culuf
