codyscace100 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 im completely new to this and i need some help. i am downloading the base files from the installation guide for beginners. i have downloaded the core and data from the top and the mod configuration menu without a problem. but all the other files seem to be in a different format or something. i have trid everything i can think off but im new to this. if someone could please give me a step by step procces on how to properly download and install the rest of the files. p.s. how the f*** do i start a new topic? i had to edit this one
WrythePhokas Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I just downloaded it three hours ago - it's right there on the page. http://www.loverslab.com/files/download/35-msex-veronica-ds/
codyscace100 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 i know but it wont let me download the top and bottom files. or maybe im doing it wrong. im still new to using mods. how did you put the on?
RitualClarity Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 When downloading from this site there might be some time between downloads. Wait for the counter to count down before the download option appears. If you are impatient you won't get that option until the first mod downloads. It might not be the issue but thought I would bring it up. They all seem to work tried 2 of the three and they work as they are suppose to.
codyscace100 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 what do i do if it downloads but nothing recognizes the file?
RitualClarity Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 esm and esp cannot be recognized by FOMM as a mod to install in the original format, if that is what you are trying to do. It has to be in an "archive" format like zip or 7z, like the "msexVeronica.7z" mod is in. If this is the issue you are having... then there are two options. 1. drag the esp and esm into the Fallout New Vegas "Data" folder. You will find textures, sound, and other "BSA" and "ESM" in the folder. don't put it in the folder that has anything that states "launcher". 2. use 7z and compress the esm and esp into a new compressed "archive" and then you mod manager of choice (should be FOMM for Sexout mods as it is the only supported manager) can "recognize" it and load it into the game for you.
RitualClarity Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Sorry it took some time for me to understand the issue. In you OP you mentioned "download" and "install" I thought at first the issue was downloading the files. It was only later that I thought that you were actually only having problems with installing the files and if you were using any manager they wouldn't be recognized because they aren't archive. Forgive us on LL. Sometimes we forget some of the most simple aspects of modding. I myself included. It might take some time to understand and aid you but we will continue trying to help to the best of our ability. Thanks for coming back and clicking answered this should help others with similar problems as yours. Hope the rest of your gaming experience is better.. Have fun.
codyscace100 Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 thanks again. another quick question. if i install just the stuff on sexout compilation and nothing else will that still work. i tried it and my game is not crashing but the entire chest of all female charactures is F'd up. is this just because it installed improperly or do i need to install something else. and if i do, what do i install?
RitualClarity Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 You need all the files that SCR and the other mods such as the SexoutNG requires. Check the Installation Guide for Beginners and load those files that aren't found in the Compilation. Then go to the SCR link and make sure you have all the required files such as Spectrums Toy Pack etc. Then if you plan on using Pregnancy go to that link and make sure you have all the added files for them if there are any. Right now you are missing Textures and Meshes that are required for the compilation. The boob issues are the result of not having the compatibility skeleton. Use the link in my sig. As you might guess the compilation files don't include many of the required textures and such.
RitualClarity Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 SCR = Sexout Common Resources. SSR = Sexout Shared Resources (at least if memory serves me correctly.) SCR is the most commonly used "resource" mod for Sexout mods. That is it holds most of the extra data that other mods access and require. This makes it simple to download and play with various mods without having to download mb or even a gig of files only to realize that you don't want to use that mod. It also allows for a more consistent world space in the sexout universe. It is script intensive and some weaker computers have a hard time running it with lots of other mods that have heavy scripting. SSR is an option for some of the base mods like Tryout and others. Must read the OP and instructions and select the correct "resource" or face a CTD right off the bat.
codyscace100 Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 thanks. new question as i might as well know as much as i can. how do i "compress" files in 7zip as you mentioned earlier? and do zip files go right to FOMM? im asking this for the NVSE extender
RitualClarity Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 for NVSE extender isn't to be used with FOMM or any installer it needs to be installed manually. Follow the instructions on the "installation Guide for beginners" http://www.newsgroupreviews.com/guides/7-zip-extract-unrar.html should give you some ideas on how to process a zip file.
codyscace100 Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 i have copletely lost all patiance with this. i have exepted that i have no idea how to do this. moving esm files to the fall out new vegas folder seems to do nothing. every time i install something eg. sexout store, smaller talk, msex veronica. it screws up somehow. i dont understand this. all i want to do is play a game with a more interesting kick than others. non of the mods i put on work and im not even sure im putting the basic files on right eg. NVSE, nvse extender, bnb compatability skeleton. i know this is probably really annoying but could somebody please give me a full (foolproof) step by step proccess on how to properly download and install all the basic files from the installation guide and the following mods with the programs 7-zip and FOMM. [sexout store, msex fort slavery, msex veronica, small talk or smaller talk (if there is a difference), sexout check me out, sexout hookups, sexout lust, sexout strapon sex, sexout breeder, sexout rape game, sexout wear and tear] like i said. a complete idiot proof walkthrough please.

For a start just get NV working with your normal mods (assuming you have got that far to get FOMM NVSE & normal mods working ok) plus NVSE Extender, Sexout and a simple mod like Sexout Sexkey, forget adding the fancy stuff till you can get that working. And while it's working backup your NV folders before screwing around too much to save time when you break it completely.

Have you looked at this post that I suggested you look at ? http://www.loverslab.com/topic/16277-sexoutng-framework-installation-guide-for-beginners/. What part exactly are you having problems with. I would love to help you more but I don't know how to explain it any better that that post. There is no complete guide for all those mods to be downloaded. That can/ would take pages and pages of post and be itself so complex that people will miss steps anyway. They miss steps as it is with the current guide. If you are able to follow the current guide for a basic install you have the needed skills to install all the other mods. It will take time and patience but you will get there. I spent months learning and fixing various aspects of the mods until I can get a stable game. Still even the best of us end up with various problems anyway. The point is this is a heavily modified game. Mods that are doing things that weren't meant to be ran in the original game. It has been a massive effort just to get to where we are and there will be issues regardless of how well we try.
RitualClarity Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Maybe learn about basic modding a little bit before moving on in Sexout. It can be frustrating for the experience modder. http://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids He has very nice tutorials check down his page and watch and learn a bit with his tutorials. Might be good for you to watch it. However remember Sexout really uses FOMM instead of NMM but still if you can understand this video tutorial we can help you further.
codyscace100 Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 i have been using the beginner guide since i started. i have finally downloaded the sexout store but obviosly i need other mods. i know a few of what i need but could somebody give me a list of all the mods i need for the sexout store, msex veronica and fort slave. on another note. all 7z and fomod files go to FOMM right? and all esm and esp files go into the fallout new vegas data folder right? and why cant i open smaller talk in 7zip? still going through the videos. thanks again for all the help
RitualClarity Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 You shouldn't require other mods for Sexout Store except SCR. 1. SexoutNG installed and working 2. SCR installed and working 3. Pregnancy (if you want it installed and working) 4. Store installed and working, you can go to the store and purchase items and test them out. Save often, return to a previous save and buy other items keep notes on what has floating heads or giant red triangles. Those are missing requirements that can be added later if you plan on using them. 5. Load other mods. All mod found there should have there requirements included in the OP. Well except if it is in the Sexout Download you should assume that you should have Sexout installed. Duh. SexoutNG, SCR are two of the most complex mods to install. Get them working properly the rest will be simple. Have patience you will get there. I had a hell of a time getting it to work properly. I rose to the challenge and now I know more about modding than I ever did in the last 5 or so years of using mods. If you want some reads or links Ihave helpful links in my Sig (below this post)
codyscace100 Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 i seem to have everything but the NVSE extender working. i just dont know where to put the file. it could also be that i dont have NVSE in the right spot. i have the NVSE files loose in the falloutNV folder and the NVSE extender is in a folder marked plugins which is in a folder marked NVSE which is in my falloutNV folder. is this right?
RitualClarity Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 From BruceWayne's tutorial you can see the path on top .. fallout new vegas > Data > NVSE > Plugins If you dropped the extender in the folder "plugins" and it looks like the picture than you have done that part correct. The NVSE files are "loose" in the Fallout New Vegas folder. If you see the "Data" folder and the FalloutNVLauncher.exe file you have it correct in the folder. You should be good to go with those files. Also from BruceWayne's tutorial. If those are correct and you install Sexout NG using FOMM you should see it in the "package manager". Select it and click activate it will tell you it was successfully installed. If it does this it is likely it will work correctly. Use the same techniques to install all the other mods you need to and you should be fine. Don't over think it. Take your time and follow the instructions and you should be fine.
RitualClarity Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Don't worry so much about the mods and messing them up. After the core files the NVSE extender and NVSE itself the rest can be done through the FOMM installation method usually without too much fuss. If you use the FOMM to install and Uninstall the mods you use you can always remove them. Now if you have the core files mentioned above up and running I would suggest that you back up the folder. Use compressed file, zip, or 7z. Hell even just copy the folder and paste somewhere else just in case you need to start over. As long as you have some backup you should be fine. Speaking of backups. FNV should be from Steam if memory serves me correctly. Even if you bought a disk it still required Steam to use. Take advantage of steams backup feature for the main game. Keep in mind that it wont' backup your mods and other folders. This will help save you from having to re-download the game again. You can always "verify cache" on a backed up game.
