Handsome Squidward Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I am causing a CTD when creating a save.Sometimes, the game allows me to save, but I frequently CTD at autosaves or manual saves. I have tried this: 1. Load an older save (as long as it doesn't have CTD on save glitch, then load it)2. Create a NEW save (through pause menu)3. Type in console command player.kill4. Load your latest save (the one that had CTD glitch)5. Type in console command player.kill6. Try saving (I usually just use quicksave) but I cannot quicksave after I die, although I can save after, but the problem of CTD when saving will persist. I reinstalled Skyrim and heavily modded it after an absence of playing it. The differences between my newly installed Skyrim and the Skyrim before uninstallation are the mods and the DLCs. I have determined it is not loading a large save file purge, my load order, or missing masters. I used to play with 254 esp mods, but my Fallout started experiencing a limit at 140 mods. I use BOSS and TES5 Edit. I may have mod incompatibility or an error in my system. I have DirectX 11 and not the recommended 9 or 10. I have tried removing all my mods except the DLCs and a race mod. I was able to save in one save file and CTD in another. I believe a rogue script is causing this or something along the lines of my system not being able to convert save files into their proper format (.tmp into .css or something along those lines). I don't know how to post load order or papyrus scripts.
Jay1646 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I had the same problem as you I couldn't figure it out so i just went ahead and did a re-install with a new start....
Handsome Squidward Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 What about the mods? Were they left unchanged or were they reinstalled? Did the problem of saving persist?
Jay1646 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 What about the mods? Were they left unchanged or were they reinstalled? Did the problem of saving persist? The problem was I had too many scripted mods so the only mods i have now are sexlab mods and a few spawn mods...
winny257 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 hi 2CoolCarlos!your mods are not the problem, the problem is the patch 1.9!many mods are not compatible with this patch. I also had this trouble, constant crashes were me full on the nerves. A reinstall will not fix the problem, if you re install the same mods!because with a new installation you invite you automatically via steam patch 1.9 again in your game.My luck was that I had made a safety copy of skyrim 1.8 patch with me, now I play in offline mode and can use all my mods without annoying crashes. deutsch ! das problem sind nicht deine mods , das problem ist der patch 1.9 !sehr viele mods sind nicht kompatibel mit diesen patch . ich hatte auch dieses problem , ständige abstürze gingen mir voll auf die nerven . eine neuinstallation wird das problem nicht beheben , wenn du wieder die selben mods installierst !denn mit einer neuinstallation lädst du dir automatisch über steam wieder patch 1.9 in dein spiel .mein glück war , daß ich mir eine sicherheitskopie von skyrim mit patch 1.8 gemacht habe , jetzt spiele ich im offline modus und kann alle meine mods ohne lästige abstürze verwenden .
Handsome Squidward Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 IEveryone with a non pirated Skyrim has downloaded the latest patch. Yet, only a few are experiencing these problems as there isn't numerous posts on the bugs of this new patch. I need a more concrete answer. Aside from the patch, I continue to dissect the issue. I played on a file started on a new game with only a race mod, the DLCs, and the RaceCompatibilty master, and I was able to save. Although, save files made before the patch are likely to CTD as I discovered when saving on an older file. Mods may still be an issue, but I do not know how to post load orders and would need assistance. I do know how to run a Papyrus debugger and I will try to find the issue/fix.
winny257 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 if you're playing the newly instaled and no mods, then there is a possibility to have it checked over steam your game, that would be an option! deutsch ! wenn du das spiel neu instaliert hast und noch keine mods , dann giebt es eine möglichkeit über steam dein spiel überprüfen zu lassen , daß wäre auch eine option !
KKMod777 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Try: Disable steam cloud, it mess my saves up since Oblivion. Move out some saves, keep only a few of them. Remove script http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31675/, read the tutorial carefully, remember backups. Also http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31724/ may be helpful.
Deedlit Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 i alwalys let one save lvl 1 with vanilla like char to avoid that.
