Lula Luv Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Trying to transfer the look of a follower mod to a character of another mod. So far this has worked, but there are problems with the body, which does not quite match the color of the head. This is most likely because I am using the COCO Body V6 with the Fairskin. With the program xEdit I can adjust TINC Tint Color and QNAM Texture Lighting. I have always left the two values identical, but played around with them a bit and got closer to the color value of the head. However, this is like more or less blind trial and error and every time I have to restart Skyrim to test the effect... Is there no more efficient method to match the colors?

I created a replacer.esp with xEdit, with the NPC of the mod I want to overwrite (copy as overwrite into new esp). I selected the Follower mod as another master for it and overwrote the appearance data with that of the desired NPC in the new ESP. And then I replaced the NIF and DDS of the NPC with the ones from the Follower Mod. I think that technically everything should be fine, only the values of the skin color have to be adjusted... Oh, and I didn't use CK.
KoolHndLuke Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 I usually just make a copy of the .dds file somewhere else and then throw it PS and make adjustments in a new layer. Do NOT close it and launch game to keep testing until things look good. Then you can close BS if you're happy with everything. Of course unless you are using unique player paths, then it'll affect every npc with those textures.
RomeoZero Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 FaceTint is bugged by the engine, later on you will get the same issue. My created companions were OK, after some month I didnt touch the game, then returned to it and some companions had wrong facetint shader on them.

If follower not using your standard texture or body nif Create Armor(body) with Armor Addon(body) nif pointing to the original body nif. And the new Texture set pointing to the new texture. Add the texture to the Armor(body) you created. Add the Armor(body) to the follower WNAM - Worn Armor. If Head and Body nif / Head and Body texture are from the same mod so the nif and texture color are the same. 1. Open modfolder\textures\actors\character\facegendata\facetint\mod.esp\XXXXXX.dds in paint.net 2. Use Color Picker on the left and click at the bottom right or left. 3. In Color window, click more. Use the RGB values in the esp file, follower (QNAM Texture Lighting)
