Animation problem

Seeing that no one answered my last question about invisible horses can some on please answer it? I can't see them in the game and am getting tired of running into them. I also noticed that some of the other characters are only partially in the game (I only see their head and hands). I have uninstalled FNIS Creatures and XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended and re-installed them but that hasn't fixed the problem. Any ideas what it could be?

guessing: maybe something's wrong with your horse meshes or textures.

 

For instance, if you've installed a horse retexture mod of some sort, that might be somewhere to look for issues.

 

Or if the game is still relatively "vanilla" AND if it's 1.6x or higher, (or if you've had some personal epiphany and decided that maybe it's time to do the update, which some have clearly done), you could use the Bethesda/Steam game integrity checker, and it'll automatically swap out any bad meshes or textures for the vanilla assets. I used it twice, a long time ago, and it did the job for me to resolve some odd issues I was having (not invisible horses). But....since I use 1.5.97 and for now I want to continue to use 1.5.97 uninterrupted, I will not be using it any time soon since that would interfere with keeping 1.5.97

Ok, I only have the new version (1.6.x.x) and never had an issue before. I also don't have horse retexture mod but I did notice a SC_HorseReplacer.esp in my plugins right now so I just disabled that to see what happens. I also ran into a new problem (actually quite funny). I got the Nightengale armor from one of the quests and now when I put on the hood my whole head disappears. It makes me look like the headless horseman now and strangely when I take the hood off the rest of my body disappears with exception of the arrows on my back... weird huh??

If you don't get anywhere with your present course of action, I'd suggest trying the integrity tool. You're running the current version, so it's not going to screw anything up (afaik) like it would for a 1.5.97 player, and if you get nowhere, it's worth a try.  Seems bizarre and buggy to me that horses would be invisible. The only time I've seen that is when my game meshes/textures were the wrong version for the master they were resources for. Which is one thing the integrity tool can remedy
