CTD on entering cities. Not sure where to start troubleshooting, but build seems to run very smoothly otherwise. Already did quite a bit of troubleshooting to make sure game ran smoothly, which it does, just can't load cities, for whatever reason.

I can post logs or anything if necessary. I'm sure you'll notice the build is pretty hectic, cause this is built off a January 2020-ish build where I just updated and removed stuff that I didn't want. I've been doing this since 2013, so I'm pretty well-versed in methods, and in fact this build runs like butter except for the issue described.

 

I just, for the life of me, can't find where the problem may be. I figure it's either got to be an overload issue, due to cities being dense, or a conflict.

 There used to be an issue with SL survival SE where spawning enforcers caused issues. Considering Monoman does not actively support SSE and the fact that problem appeared to be exlusive to port - id bet its still unresolved. Do try to disable SL survival enforcers, see if it changes anything.

Thanks. why do you think this would be an issue when loading cities? The enforcers are also spawned outside of cities, and they ran just fine? It's not that I don't believe you, I'm trying to get a better understanding of what might be causing the issue.

Could be city rebuild mods not playing nicely, or it might be some NPCs that had their "look" swapped out by some mod(s).

 

Any mod that is made  to alter or enhance the "urban" environment (or which, by its nature, interacts with the urban areas) can cause problems in those cells.

 

If you're on the "AE" version, it could be some older mod not playing nicely with the new SKSE... And conversely, mods expecting AE support don't (in my experience) play nicely at all with 1.5.97 and 2.0.17/2.0.19, in case you're running this version, and of course, in case you recently installed any new mods or recent updated the game.

I had a similar problem a few years ago when entering Helgen Keep and I see your using BDs Armor and Clothes Replacer CBBE 3BBB

Try using 2 additional files from BD's Armor and Clothing Replacer Complete Collection

"Ebonymail 1st person fix" and more importantly "Imperial Texture fix".  Back then they were missing from the 3BBB replacer.  Not sure if that has been fixed since i no longer use it.

One NPC in a city missing a texture can ruin your whole day.

Thanks man. This is my first thought too. But vvith all the city rebuilding mods I have, I'm not sure I can figure vvhat's doing it out vvithout a complete rebuild.

Thanks. Probably hasn't been fixed. And it vvould be consistent vvith the areas I'm trying to load and failing, since Imperial armor is not super common. Can I ask vvhat mod you use instead of bad dog's replacer?
