nunyabidnez Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Good Evening, all. Was just generating FNIS as I'd updated some mods, and I get the following error message when it gets perhaps three quarters way through? ERROR(76): Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\temporary_logs\DebugData.txt'. I've never seen that before, and am not sure why all of a sudden it would not be able to find the temp logs? Should I go in and wipe all temp logs within FNIS, or am I looking at a reinstallation issue here? Please don't tell me that, lol,... Thank you in advance for any advice given.
nunyabidnez Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 Just to clarify, I do use MO2, so there's no reason FNIS should be looking in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\ for the tools folder, it's within the mods folder of MO2.
Just Don't Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Add FNIS/MO2 or your mod/game folders as exceptions in Windows Defender or anti-virus. Alternatively, you can disable real time protection for the 40 seconds it takes using FNIS and see if that solves the issue. From what I've seen it has to do with some last year Windows update messing with programs using virtual folders.

I found that shortly after posting, simply made and exemption for FNIS and now it works as should. Thank you. Been away from the game for a very long time now, wasn't keeping up with the issues that are now commonplace knowledge.
