Veck Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 So I'm trying to edit a custom outfit for cbbe but every time I open it in outfit studio its about 2 ft above the body references head. If I move the outfit down to the body then it will be below the body in game so I need keep it above but that doesn't allow me to see the parts clipping through on the body. Is there a way to put the body at the exact height of the outfit or make it so some parts of the body get hidden when the outfits worn.
Gameplayer Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Just select the outfit and then use "move" function should be in one of the above tabs probably edit. Dont worry about it its either going to work or it wont. I expect that when you save the outfit bodyslide this problem will be corrected in the output nif. Other than that you wont want to keep most of the body, likely you want to zap out most of it only keeping the neckline and the feet.

The problem here is that the object has an offset that Outfit Studio doesn't read, but also doesn't remove so if you move it to the correct spot in OS the offset will put it to the wrong spot in the game/nifskope. The way I usually fix this is to export the part to .obj and then import it again. When Outfit Studio offers you to overwrite the current selection because they have the same node count select No. Then you set the old one as a reference, copy the bone weights to the new one and remove the old one. You then have to reapply the texture settings in Nifskope. Afterwards it's at exactly the same spot in Outfit Studio and in game.

It's been a while since I've last dealt with this, so there's probably been new releases in the meantime. But OP clearly stated that if he fixes the offset in BS he creates one in game.
