[REQUEST] Anno: Mutationem

Recommended Posts

I really want to mod this game, I love the main character and I want to make costumes for her. It would be awesome if someone knows how to hack/decode these asset files and compile them again.

The female protag can age in this game? 😮

No, those are flashbacks and stuff like that. But you can unlock costumes doing missions.

Well......extracting the 2D textures with Assetstudio shows a disappointing small chest size plus she's wearing panties. What kind of people who wears panties while taking a bath? Anyway, the chest size is manageable while the panties can be removed by simply recolor it. Now there's the biggest obstacle, anyone knows how to mod it? Also, wonder if there's a debug mode so I can disable the player sprite and take a picture of the background scenes, its pretty beautiful, perfect for desktop wallpaper.

Guess I'll give it a try then. Thanks for the tip. Anyway, if anyone's know how to enable debug mode and disable player sprite please let me know, thanks.

Alright, small update. Found a way to mod Anno which is Il2Cpp type Unity. Here's the guide:

I've managed to decompile the global metadata and run the hidden assembly csharp with dnspy, now it's just need to figure out what's these codes do, how to compile it back, and experiment with the hacks. Cheers.

Edit: Turns out reading all these codes makes me dizzy as I never learn coding before. If anyone has a decent coding skills, feel free to make a debug mode for Anno and post the hack file here. Thanks.

Edit again: I almost forgot, this is the Assembly-CSharp.dll I found after decompile the global metadata, feel free to make the hacks if you have a decent coding skills, especially disable player sprite so I can take a screenshot of background scene without the player on it and ability to zoom in and out camera. Plus, if anyone knows how to compile the Assembly-CSharp.dll back to global metadata, let me know. Cheers.

The gameplay is pretty decent so far. Nice crafting mechanic, plenty sidequest and sometimes with puzzle mechanic in it and good combat mechanic, the only thing that bugs me out so far that the bartender minigame is very hard.

It's possible to mod, but need to fix the crc on the bundle after. Search for a tool "Unity Asset Bundle CRC Spoofing"
Save your modded bundle, compress it, then run the CRC tools. Compare the original with the modded, and it will spit out a replacement file with a working crc

3dm(3dmigoto) also works for most unity based games, which means you dont need to change the games files for these mods

you can make the cup invisible I think - yes it can be invisible

then extract her sprites and customize it

as well as do re-textures for im assuming any npc

didn't test it enough on this game yet though see what else can be modded

on the right you can see one of her dlc outfits, im sure you can do the others, but i need to test some things as some things are different for this game.

so i may need to confirm if anything is possible atm

the cup can be extracted, which means most 3d objects could be changed or replaced - I think - YES it can

could replace or edit these as well

takes a bit just to turn her tights into shorts

not used to coloring sprites but you can mess around with it and re-inject the textures- you can even remove the extra smoke and clear up the scene

Amazing! Please, Can you explain how to extract and replace the sprites as you did? I'm good at pixel art and I would like to make many costumes or requests. And since I love this game you can expect a lot of content from me and I'll share them here. :)

-Edit-

With AssetStudioGUI I can open the file "resources.assets" file but I can't find there the characters sprites.

Yeah, don't suppose we can get a drag and drop file for this? I'm so bad at modding with programs.

Also, is there anyway to quadruple the pixel count in some of the characters? That would add so much more detail but still keep it's pixel charm.

search for 2DTextures not meshes

nope, unity is not making it easy when it comes to installing mods unless the mod gets released as a asset file which is not recommended because it breaks every time the game gets updated also to answer your other question yeah it's possible you can edit the sprites directly and increase the pixel count

Maybe I'm using the wrong tool or selected the wrong files, but those are the only ones that I can open, I've selected the entire installation folder. I can find sprites from the menus but not the characters.

you only loaded the level files click on file and click load folder and select the data folder next to the exe

Thank you, but I did as you say. I select load folder and that is what I see. I can't find those sprites, If someone who already extracted them can tell me I'll start making mods nonstop. But for now I'm stuck.

A lot of the player character sprites seem to be inside "ANNOMutationem\Anno_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64\duplicateassetisolation_assets_all_e4b8ca911864cd3d59764293a14617bd.bundle"

All the names start with "anno_" like "anno_bluedress"

Can anyone point me to a guide on how to use 3dmigoto to identify/mod textures? I have it installed but I have no idea how to use it.

Ok, I was using an old version of AssetStudioGUI, now I can extract all of them.
