Sidewasy Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 How can a magic user be hindered to the same extent as confiscating weapons hinders a melee combat focused build? Â In 'Sexlab Survival', a melee warrior gets her weapons confiscated, while a mage gets her magicka cut off. Obviously, while a new melee weapon can be found at any bandit camp, the mage character is completely crippled. So I'm wondering, what could be done to the mage character instead, so that the handicap is more even?
nilead Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Sl surival solution offers with a collar that can be lockpicked, and therefore - bypassed. Wich is a rather elegant solution, since you can remove handicap - but you'll have to do so discreetly. Now that requires DD framework, and there is plenty of reasons why someone might not want it their load order. Â Its most likely possibly to add a condition to mana drain to be restricted to cities only using location keywords. Will be quite fiddly at first go around thou.
excidium93 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 You could tie the effect to the guard checking you licences on entering a city. When you want to leave you could either soeak with the guard again or maybe the toll box. That would lift the effect and you have x seconds to leave the city or else...
Tlam99 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Attach to lockpicks, those are not allowed either. No lockpick, no mana.
Baltasarr80 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 cut off there manaflow Closing up their meridians via curses or acupuncture Also set up mittens or backstrapings so that he or she cant use his/her hands the same goes than with lockpicking because he/she cant reach the locks. You could also set up an aura for the area where magic isnt allowed ... Areaefeffects are in game so that should also be possible
Sidewasy Posted February 10, 2022 Author Posted February 10, 2022 I think I have misphrased the question. What I'm wondering is how to make it so that the magic user can partially recover. If you take a master swordsman's daedric sword, they can pick up an iron sword, and they'll have partially regained their power. If you cut off a mages magicka flow, then they are completely crippled, and if they restore their magicka flow, they'll be back at full power. It's this partial recovery that I'm especially interested in.
nilead Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 There is a spell magnitude multiplier, it can be used to partially cripple a mage. It is however a completely different effect, and it has a caveat - it doesnt really hinder cunjurers much, and there are alot of scripted spells in mods that wont really be affected either.
