karma1830 Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Hi. Need help please. My Sims 4 games with WW updated last night. All mods and custom content do not work. They were still in the Mods folder though. I had a backup of files in Mods folder with lots of content. So I deleted contents in mods folder, deleted localthumbcache, and re-copied contents from backup into mods folder. It still does not work! Can anyone please help me with this? Thank you!!!! Karma

It still does not work! Game updates often break your old Mods and it's worse when you skip some of the games previous updates. Best to just start with the basics like the updated version of Wicked Whims + Animations only and test the game. Then add one or two updated Mods back into game and test again. Generally Script Mods should be updated first like... MCCC Nisa's Wicked Perversions etc. Others that often need updating are... UICheats Extension Any TMex Mods Mods by LittleMsSam Custom Career Mods Custom Traits etc. Normally it's safe to try all your CC Makeup, Hairstyles, Shoes, Clothing, etc., as those rarely break with game updates although there are a few exceptions.

I would really just like to keep updates from happening at all (this is a 6+ year old game so not sure why it is being updated) but that is another story/issue - I got the game from Steam. I actually tried going in today and setting "Enable Modded Content" or something like that in Game Options and all seems to be working. I'll have to play around some more later. Fingers crossed! - and thank you again?

Fingers crossed! - and thank you again? I think you can disable game updates on Steam but it's a global setting for all Steam Games and not just The Sims. Might have to Google it to find out how as I use Origin so it's quite simple. Then when you load Steam or Origin you select play offline.

Karma Updates turn off cc and script files...did you turn them back on?
