ModdersResources Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 I have Skyrim anniversary edition, and I just downloaded the latest official patch for the game from steam. Also updated SKSE64 AE. Whenever I boot up the game, I get this error message. What does it mean? What do I need to do to fix this?
travelmedic Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Did your game work before you got the updates? It looks like you have Legacy Edition Oldrim mods - whatever AnimSpeedPlugin is from, and possibly EngineFixes too.

Every single mod I have installed if or SSE.
travelmedic Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 The mod could be called anything, it doesn't have to be called AnimSpeedPlugin. That dll file could be part of a mod called "Old Brown Cow." If you look at the warning, it says it's an LE plugin, so you need to find out where it came from. It would have come packaged with something else. For the EngineFixes.dll, whatever mod that came from might need an update of its own to be compatible with the new SKSE64 and AE. That might be why it won't load.

anjenthedog Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Animspeedplugin is defunct. It was a useful in LE as an animation speed control, but it doesn't work in SE due to code differences. You can either ignore it, (that's what I do) or afaik some have said you can manually remove the dll. Having said that... before you remove the dll, I'd recommend you do a widenet search and verify. As I noted, I just ignore the error. Game runs fine. Alternatively, for "animation speed control", SL Triggers provides a hook to provide animation speed control for using SGTM (global speed control) to set pace in SL animation stages. By default the script is set to use numkeys >>> /, *, -, and + keys. / resets animation speed to its default, * sets the current value of sgtm for an animation stage, - slows it down in 0.1 increments, + speeds it up in 0.1 increments You have to explicitly define insertion of this "speed control tool" using SL triggers At the end of the animation, SL triggers will reset the animation speed (ie sgtm) to 1, preserving normal gameplay when not in an SL animation sequence. Do not use the speed control setting in SL's MCM. It will not work, since it tries to use the LE based animspeedplugin.dll, which doesn't work in Skyrim SE. Enginefixes.dll couldn't load usually indicates that enginefixes hasn't been installed properly. You must both use the installation for part 1 (using a mod manager) and successfully place the other files it requires for "part 2" (manaully). It's the part 2 afaik people don't get right. I wasn't able to use enginefixes for months and months, since for whatever reason, skyrim wouldn't accept that I placed the files in their correct location (part 2). Gave up finally and just ran with the error (I might have disabled the "mod" portion) until one day I either updated enginefixes or simply tried again (I don't honestly recall which it was) and it worked.

Okay, I manually uninstalled animspeedcontrol, and installed the part 2 dll file from enginefixes. The error window no longer appears when I boot the game, but then whenever I try to boot, the screen goes black (I can see the ENB data on the top-left of the screen) and then it crashes back to desktop. I did not have this problem prior to the new patch update.
coolfreaky Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 now with AE you need to track and update each one of your mods and follow here : SE Compatibility Tracking (Jan 4? #6932) - SE 1.6.353 ✔Physics ✔DD ✔JC ✔RM ❌AIM ❌SOS - Skyrim: Special Edition - LoversLab also you might have this issu : Bethesda Working on Fix for Skyrim Black Screen Issue (gamerant.com)
anjenthedog Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 So....you're using skyrim ("AE") 1.6x or higher? If that's the case, then I can't really help beyond what I already offered, since I haven't done the update
