There is a (not so small, I think) problem that I need help with. Today as I downloaded the Cross Goodies and installed them with NMM, I started having this kind of problem: Oblivion loads normally, but as soon as that video at the main menu is over, it CTDs. Since I use Crash Prevention from Nexus, while loading I also hear that it prevents a crash. I used OBMM's New Conflict Detector, and was unable to start it. It made this crashdump file which says:

I recommend uninstalling NMM completely.  It is a massive F'ing train wreck.  

I recommend using OBMM or even better to use Wyre Bash.

 

 

CTD at the beginning like you describe typically is due to a bad oblivion.ini file or a missing master.  It can be other things as well but most generally it comes back to those two.

Well, aside the fact that I have around... I would hazard a guess, around 400 mods installed (I said installed, not active), 255 of which are active, obviously, and that would be a pain to copy. But alright, I will post my load order. Tell me how to do it and I will do it.

Ok, let's back up.  Oblivion has has both a hard cap and a soft cap.  The hard cap is 255 (plus the oblivion.esm for a total of 256 esm and esp files).  Whether you can reach the hard cap is a function of your computer spec's.  The soft cap is somewhere between 300 to 400 esm, esp and bsa files and it makes ZERO difference if they are active or not.  Oblivion counts any esm\esp\bsa file in the data folder.  How many you can have at one time in your data folder again is a function of your computer spec's.  It is not recommended to have much more on the soft cap than the hard cap.  It most certainly is not recommend to keep "installed" but not active esm\esp\bsa files in your data folder unless you have a really good reason for it.

 

The more you have, the more likely your game is to become increasingly unstable.

 

As to your load order, I gave you a link that tells you exactly how to get via OBMM or Wyre Bash.  It is a 2 second copy\paste deal.

Sex darkness is not compatible with lovers.  Pick one sex mod or the other.

 

Where are your MBP 1.4a and MBP++ ver98a esp files???  Bravil Underground Requires them!

Use BOSS to sort your non lovers w pk mods, then use the load order at this Link (inside spoiler),
 for the LwPK plugins.
This Link will let you know what mods are not compatable with LoverswPK.

If you have a bashed patch then you can merge the ones in red into it and it will auto disable them. 

Having the MBP esm file enabled is not enough.  Sorry.

You mean active? And I both have Tamago.esm and .esp. And as for xeoex.esp, I have it INACTIVE because it was said that if I have xeosp++.esp I didn't need xeoex. Most of those red files I have but Merged SKSRENs, RoseA00, RoseSims and x117 SKSRENs are new to me. I don't have them.

 

Edit: As for Moonshadows, do I have to have it active? I don't use that version. I use normal version.

On the MBP stuff:  Yes!  You have to either have them active or merged into a bashed patch.

The files are new to you because you are not listening to what I am telling you.  Go back and install BOTH MBP 1.4a AND MBP++ v98 and you will have them.

Yes, you need to use the MBP version of the MS elves (or Lovers\Tamago plugins can't find it).  It should be the same thing so just delete the other versions esp.

 

 

I have never said anything about XeoSp or XeoSP++, so I don't know why you keep talking about it.  While you most definitely should Use ONLY the XeoSP++ version if you are going to use Xeo, it doesn't have anything at all to do with Lovers with PK or Tamago Club.  Neither mod uses Xeo resources.  If you have Xeoex.esp in your data folder then delete it.  There is ZERO reason to ever have or use it when you have XeoSP++.

I also see VToy - isn't that Claudia's Little Secret, which isn't lovers compatible (let alone sexdarkness AND lovers compatible) ? Three incompatible sex mods in one load order ...

Well, then I have to do one and only option left, and it fills me with more dread than reliving your own death: I have to reinstall Oblivion.

And the problem is, I don't know what mods to reinstall. Bloody Libra...

While I don't envy you on having to reinstall it will perhaps help you update things to their most current versions, remove unused assets, and reinforce the need for you to periodically back up your game.

Well, this is just GREAT. Would someone have a 7z with the .iso inside it? Oblivion is one of the few games I don't have as an .iso file, and the DVD is so scratched up it is a miracle I can reach those 90+ percent with that disc.

Well, after quite a bit of experimenting and torture with my discs, I managed to reinstall Oblivion. Now to decide (aside the Shivering Isles, of course) which plugins I need to have...

Don't forget to make a backup after installing a few files.  You can compress the backup to save space.  Keep only the backups that you have disk space for.
