Guest Lehshara Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Xbox One Games At E3 Were Running On Windows 7 With Nvidia GTX Cards You know how EA's COO Peter Moore told Geoff Keighley during the post-conference interview at E3 that the games they were showing off on stage were running on comparable dev kit specs to the actual home consoles? Well...that's not really true. What is true, however, is that to get the best performance on home console games, Microsoft made sure that they were running on the most stable system specs available on the market and that happened to be an HP powered, Windows 7 system with Nvidia's 700 series GTX GPU Thanks to the guys on the HPBoards, they put together a nice little cache of information on the Xbox One and PS4, strangely they had some fairly unflattering evidence of the Xbox One games not even running on Xbox One dev kits or, as Peter Moore put it, comparable specs...unless, Microsoft is switching from AMD cards to Nvidia cards in a last ditch effort to raise the price of manufacturing the console?Anyway, Julian Rignall from US Gamers had an interesting Tweet to share, which on its own is quite harmless, noting... Well, that's just some possible guesswork and speculation from one person encountering an error on an Xbox One and there's no way that any of that can remotely be proven because why would Microsoft not trust their own dev kits or comparable specs to run high-end games when...BAM! Oh dayum! And wait for it, wait for it...wait...for...it...Boom! R.I.P Xbox One. You had your BF4 in 60FPS.... I guess, another bullet to the knee is not enough for Microsoft, they need whole mag. Another reason why Xbox One sucks and is not worth buying.
firepaw74 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Console games are developed using PC and Dev Kits so if the game is on the early stage of development it's entirely possible that it can be runned on PC.
Veta Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I wander what game he was playing and if it was xbox one exclusive because if it is so easy to port the games of new consoles to pc then that would mean more exclusives coming for pc .
Ark of Truth Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Firepaw is right, games are developed on PC and then ported to consoles.
Something Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Considering that consoles in general are basically computers with dedicated operating systems it's not unusual. Besides if the console and the games were really at that stage of development then we wouldn't have to wait much longer for their release.
Duoleb The Chosen Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 seeing MS using Win 7 makes me think that they hate Win 8
R0R0N0 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Some people are too eager to jump to conclusions when it comes to consoles and games. I said this before in another board, wait a year after its release and you will know for sure the state of the console, what they can/can't perform, what direction the company is heading with the console etc. I got my doubts about the Xbox One but I can never say I know something until I've tried it hands-on myself.
Sensual Nautilus Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 while i have to disagree this is the entire magazine, i'd say this is an additional bullet hole on their bullet ridden foot of reputation. They really needed to dish out more demonstrations regarding their machine with games. This does not tear down the whole lot for MS, but it most certainly wont do them any good, with the higher possibility of the worse. One thing they needed from us is our confidence, this did not encouraged it from me.
Veta Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Wait a year for what ? PS4 has better hardware , better exclusives , better price , cheaper online service with more free games and no restrictions or online requirements , and I ask again Wait a year for what ?
MrMan11 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is the Sony equivalent of Live still going to be free?

squall1151 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 yes pc gamer allso said xbox 1 battlefield was running on pc. to me its says they still cant keep up to be fair as well tho xbox clealy they havent finished the xbox one, other wise we would of seen the xbox on or real video. but still they shown a pc graphics to try and sell it.
Something Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is the Sony equivalent of Live still going to be free? I recall hearing they're now gonna be charging, but considering >$5 a month I don't think that's terrible.
Astaroth-Lite Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Oh please, I highly doubt any of the games shown for the PS4 where running on on that machine either. This is something that has been done at every big console unveiling for the past decade and a half now.

No they were not , they run on the devkits http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2013/06/14/ps4-games-demoed-on-ps4-dev-kits-says-blow-xbox-one-games-spotted-running-on-pcs-with-nvidia-cards-bodes-ill-for-launch/
leddis3 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is the Sony equivalent of Live still going to be free? No. It will be sub based just as Live is now. However, if they continue with the incentives of free and discount games as the current Playstation Plus does, it will still have the edge.

Well then, I imagine Microsoft is praying for a meteor to drop on Sony HQ, because that's the only way Sony can lose this now.
mnbvcxz Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Consoles are an archaic form of entertainment, in recent console generations they are becoming more and more like unupgradable PCs. They are basically weak, stand-alone PCs riddled with DRM and totally unmoddable. Buying an XBox One is like buying a PC and then never upgrading it for the next 8 years.
MrMan11 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Hmmh, free online was one of my major pulls for the PS3, but to be fair I still got the 360 anyway so I guess it aint that big an issue.
Jerbsinator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 To be fair Sony claims that all money garnered from the monthly fee will be put back into making the online experience better. We will have to see if they are telling the truth.
Veta Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 You can still play free games such as Balcklight ,Wareframe and Planetside 2 for free without PS+
R0R0N0 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Wait a year, consoles cheap at second christmas sale, wait a year and overheating issues come to surface, wait a year and more interesting games come out than what there is now. If overheating issues do come to surface, you know what MS is going to do hah Sure you can know a console's fate from the moment it's announced but I don't like doing that until I've actually had a go at the console myself. Oh and the PS4 is in a win situation, I don't deny that sony does things right. I'm just giving MS the benefit of the doubt.
lordofthedread Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Sony is also known to deliver very difficult to learn programming environment in front of MS. I personally dont own any console (I have a Wii that takes dust somewhere in a closet) but I am happy nontheless to see more powerful game console appears because that mean we will have games using the full power of PC computers, at least for a while
