Veta Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 PS4 architecture is the same as a high end pc unlike PS3 , you can see that by how easily all this F2P games like Blacklight and Warframe were ported to PS4 or the indies in development like DayZ which said they were coming to PS4 only .
D_ManXX2 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I wonder how many PRISM utilities will be installed once you buy this console.
Adam Jensen Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Meh, the only console I'll be getting is the WiiU and that's because they have awesome exclusives. This year I made the jump from console gaming to pc gaming and I honestly don't feel like going back.

More like a mid range pc. Any high end pc has a minimum of 16 GB Ram.

Since the X1 runs three OS, I think the Ram is limited to 5GB if I am correct.

No game is using more than 4GB of RAM, almost no games are even using more than 1GB of VRAM, seeing how cheap it is to get 8 - 16GB of RAM nowadays I dont see the waste. A game console should be bought for exclusives and easyness of use but should never be compared to a PC in matter of raw power.

No game is using more than 4GB Ram because most games are designed for console and they had limited RAM.
lordofthedread Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Untrue you wont notice a big difference using textures that resolution is high enough to get through the bar of 4GB of ram unless you play on a 4K screen and its not going to happen anytime soon for the general public. You can try yourself using 8096x8096 textures for Skyrim, it wont make that much of a difference overhaul (you will notice a difference on the performance tho) Also there is the matter of VRAM and raw GPU power, not counting that in 1 - 2 years having 32GB ram and 2 - 3GB Vram will be in the middle range of PCs, we will then rant again that gaming consoles are pulling games quality down

It has been done since the beginning of time and it will never end!
