I need help figuring out why i keep CTD on the loading screen,

So you mean your game will not load?

Typically missing masters or too many character animations.

I have a CTD issue with Sexlab 164b

Just started happening.

I normally run mod organizer 2 and about 250 mods, the usual faire including sexlab and devious stuff.....
Here is ALL I am loading in my test config.... sexlab frame work on - CTD before the menu comes up. Sexlab off - comes right up to menu.

In the SKSE log folder there is no sexlab skse log - I believe it's dying before the log can be written. Am I missing a pre-req here? usual loot/fnis/bodyslide before running, no errors

yes, i can choose a save to load, but then it crashes during loading

vortex says im not missing any masters, unless it's not detecting it

according to fnis i only have about 1800 animations

well i have the same problem with sexlab...

1) if i add Creatures to FNIS i get a frozen poppet as PC. W/out i get everything working even CBPC and SMP.

2) Skyrim is by fare the best game thanks to all the modders, if i add SexLab Frameworks to my build i CTD.

note. I use MO2. if i install Sexlab and unselect the SexLab.esm, I still CTD... i need to run the game without sexlab, :(

i hope this will be fixed soon, im to young to play games w/out sex"lab" LOL

10 Have you tried loading an older save? It's possible that you got a glitch that's being carried forward in your desired save.

---------

2) In addition, have you run Fallrim tools on the save. It's possible (although ime unlikely) that cleaning the save will resolve some issue preventing proper load)

------------------

3) Finally, IF you have a moderately larger load list, and IF you've recent made some change (added a mod, altered some ini or an active racemenu preset jslot file, etc), repeated attempts to load the save may result in a correct load after 2, 3, 4 attempts

Anecdotal, but I have idk ~340-350 mods now. When I add a new mod or when I alter certain values manually (ini settings, a jslot I've been working on to solve an issue with my skin), the next load will almost inadvertently fail, and by fail I mean it terminates upon attempted load, wham bam, hard ctd. Second attempt it almost loads, then crashes or freeze-on-black, third load it either loads properly or fails again much like the second...ie, a partial load of some sort, or a freeze on black with or without music in background), if needed, 4th attempt to load to *that save usually loads correctly.

If so, (if I finally get the game to load correctly) and I then create a new save, the problem goes away for subsequent loads. My magic answer is that skyrim was busily doing "stuffs" in the background during each of those attempted loads, constructing or fixing or configuring or rendering or whatever some details to which I am not privy. But whatever the case, something "gets better" with each subsequent load, since I repeatedly get these false start > false start but almost loads > successful load, or  false start but almost loads and seems closer to having loaded than last time >> game finally loads situations, until I've gotten in, and created a new sae, where upon it doesn't happen again (10-20-30-50-100 successul loads on first attempt) ... until I add a new mod or make some other change to inis that alters some visible in game chracteristic.

If not, I presume that my last change (for me, almost always the case of a new mod install) is functionally incompatible with my present mod list and load order (for whatever reason), so I uninstall the mod I just installed... voila, game loads correctly.

Again, #3 is anecdotal only...Might work for you might not, might not even apply if you only less than a hundred mods installed, idk. It did start happening for me when my mod count when well over 200... I have no comprehension of why I have to jump through those hoops, nor what/who put them there in the first place.  But it works for me. Can't hurt to try before you "I reinstalled the game for time now!" or the other draconian solutions  I see too often from the frustrated.

I don't trust Vortex. This happened to me (not for the first time) a week or so ago.

The way forward would be to rollback to a previous save and or start a new game.

Then open your own thread. This thread is not about SLF.

it CTDs on a new save too it seems, however im worried about verifying my game files because i used the downgrade patcher because not all of my mods are capable of running on AE

Understood about not wanting to verifying files right now. That last ditch advise went out the window with the introduction of 1.6x

Since you downgraded from "AE" back to Se 1.5.97, maybe you still have a bit of stuff to clean up. I'd look at the various posts and help stuff about cleanup after downgrading back. A lot of people seem to have had some problems after reverting. Not exactly sure since I guarded against any "upgrade" so haven't experienced it myself.

your advice was definitely helpful to clean up my game! I do appreciate your input and help! In the end i did have to verify my game files and re-downgrade but that seemed to do the trick, and it runs smoothly!

Hah as soon as I  posted that I found the solution.
TLDR - the sexlab framework file I downloaded on 11/18 was buggy and was replaced on 12/14 by a new file with the same version.
