Help with custom room

hello, first excuse me if I express myself badly but I use a translator,

I followed the tutorial to use collatkaine but I can't import a room, I use daz 4.15 and blender 2. 92,

I explain what I did, from daz I exported to blender using blender bridge, but the textures do not import,

I also exported from daz in collada format then import in blender but once collatkaine used I have no textures.

I'm using tk17 v10.1.00p, I managed to import a room without textures but I don't know if it's correctly imported since I don't have lights in my scene...

if someone could be so kind as to explain the steps or point me to a tutorial that explains the steps i missed i would be extremely grateful

thank you in advance

DAZ models are difficult to convert into objects usable by TK17, but fortunately, "rooms" should be one of the easier things to convert..

CTK is not for importing. It is for exporting.

I wrote a Tutorial on how to create Rooms a few years ago. It is out-of-date and in need of updating (original here), but if you ignore everything regarding CTK, you may still find it quite useful.

hi, thanks for your answer

I know that ctk is used for "export" sorry if I misspoke

I already have your tutorial and it helped me to understand the process, but I don't feel like I have to apply all the textures again,

I have to find a way to import the textures correctly, strangely only one texture is in the final file but I guess I'm missing something...

not speaking english the hardest thing for me is to find the right terms to search on google...

then I'm not interested in importing daz characters, I'm tired of daz and its limitations, I love tk17 and I'd really like to be able to import my own rooms to create a coherent universe for the game I want to make... the only thing I'm missing is that... so if you ever have the faith or motivation to update your tutorial for an idiot like me or for the community that would be great

anyway thanks for your help, i'll keep trying ;)

good evening

Export your meshes with materials and be sure all textures have been stored at the same destination like the .obj file.I experienced that sometimes the textues are copied but not longer linked to the object/mesh.In this case you have to do it manualy. Also if you import a .bs scene file and no textures can be seen in texture view, just export it with blender again in .obj format and reload and you should be abke to see the textures on the right place. If your meshes are using .dds format you need a rename plugin to rename all the texture extensions to .png and convert all .dds to .png with your favourite texture editor.Hope this helps a little. :)

Like my tutorial says, every object in your 3D model "must have one Material, one UV Map and One Texture". You can apply a texture in "Blender" and even see it on screen, but if you never create a "UV Map", it won't be applied to your object or included when you export it.

Review the section on creating a "UV Map" to make sure it was done properly.

I'll try to update my tutorial in the next few days.

I've been using blender for about 10 years and I know how to create the uv map etc...

but I thought that importing from daz to blender (via the bridge) would import all the textures automatically and that I wouldn't have to redo the uvs or re-apply the textures...

I will try again by doing manually and following the advice given and I will keep you informed of the progress

thanks again ;)

edit : and thank you for the future update of your tutorial ;)

I'm not familiar with Daz's ability to export to a format Blender can import with textures already applied, so I don't know how well it works.

I spent a few hours today updating my tutorial and discovered my "CTK_GUI" utility (which is still in Beta) required a few updates to the Room creation option, slowing this down a bit more.

I hope to have both (utility and tutorial) updated soon.

I dropped blender bridge, I export in colladae format from daz, I import in blender,

I check that the textures are correctly displayed and I export again in colladae,

I just succeeded in importing my first room ! but it is much too big...

I don't have the models you indicate in your tutorial to scale, I only have the pdf entitled "CTK_Tutorial_part2-Rooms",

but I'm getting close to the goal ;)

but I realize that I still have a lot of things to learn and understand, so I'm looking forward to your tutorial ;)

thank you for your work and have a nice evening
