Hi ^^.

I just reinstallesd Skyrim, anf for the first time i choosed to play with the Special Edition ; but i have a problem with the mod installation. I used the last Mod Organizer to install a few mods (racemenu, sos, sexlab framework, their requirements and some others) to saw if i still remebered how to make it all of this work, and excepet the fact that i had to install FNISS manually because it didn't worked with the Mod Organizer, i thought it was fine... But when i tried to use Loot, i saw that the only mod which show in the mod list is Fniss ; none of the mods i install with the mod organizer are in Loot's list, nor in the data file of the game.
Does someone knows why and how to fix it ?

You did something wrong. FNIS works perfectly fine installed and used with MO.

You need to use LOOT through MO. Same as with FNIS and any other program used to interact with your game/mod files.

Aaaand you should just learn what using MO means. Or use Vortex, idk.

Look up tutorials on youtube by Gopher or Gamer Poets.  They both have guides to setting up and using Mod Organizer, and how to use executables with it such as FNIS and LOOT.  It sounds like an install problem on your end that is easily fixed.

Thank you both for your answers ^^.

I didn't play Skyrim in a while, so i didn't used this version of MO before ; i actually didn't had too much problems with the previous versions and spent hours to play moded skyrim. The reason why i din't install FNIS with MO this time is that i received a message about "the content of data does not look valid". I didn't saw what is wrong with it though, the esp are correctly located and the files of the zip folder replicate the data folder of the game just good, so i installed it manually.

For LOOT, i didn't know i had to use it through MO ; i don't remember did it before, i simply used a shortcut on my desktop and it worked fine. Same about the mod's installation, it's the first time i have this problem with the mod's which don't show in the data folders of the game. I guess things changed a bit more that what i expected x). Or i forget a lot about how all of this work. I avoided long guide until now because read is quite difficult for me, and even more when it's in another language ; a tutorial on youtube could help though ^^. Thank's for the advice !

I'll take a look on tutorials when i'll have the time, or try vortex if it's more simple. Anyway, i think i have answers to know where to search the solutions of these problems, so thanks again !

If you just reinstalled Skyrim, is it AE (Anniversery Edition)?  If so, there are threads here with solutions to that.  Just mentioning it as, @travelmedic said, some of your mods may be for the wrong version if you are getting invalid data errors.

Also, @Just Don't has is guide which is linked in his signature in his post above.  You can pair that with video tutorials to figure out the installations.

Thank you both !

I checked, and i installed the right version of FNIS for SE ; i also checked the game location of my SE instance (in MO) to be sure i have the right one, and it's fine here too. So the problem may come from something else, with the installation maybe ^^. I think i'll have to uninstall MO and restart everything. I wanted to avoid this because i have an instance of MO to manage Enderal mods (which work fine excepet for the sexlab ones, here again because i had troubles with FNIS, and without FNIS, well, no animations). But it's probably the best way to make it work, with a guide to be sure that all is done well.

Anyway, the problem don't come from the mods themselve, they're all for SE so all is good with this ^^. The sexlab index for SE was very helpful for this by the way !

I don't think i have the AE ; i have the SE since some years even if i didn't used it until now, and when i reinstalled it a few days ago, i didn't paid anything more for the AE additions. Also, the game's folder name and the name of the game in Steam's library is "Skyrim special edition". This is why i don't understand what is wrong for now, if it was a problem about the mods version or a wrong location, it would have been more simple for me to fix it because i did some mistakes with this in the past. But it seem to be something else that i don't understand for now, so i'll have no choice but read carefully the guide then follow some helpful videos as Travelmedic adviced me. I just wanted to avoid the guide in Justdon't signature, because as i said, it's difficult for me to read long text, especially in another language than my mother tongue.  But i think i'll have no othher choice because i don't know how to handle it by myself this time, so... Just have to find the time and take a day for all of this ^^.

AE is also a free update for Skyrim SE. The paid part is listed as a DLC, so the game is still Skyrim Special Edition when referring to it in Steam pages, install folders and so on. If you recently came back to it (after nov 11) chances are you do have the latest executable version which is not supported by most mods yet. You should look into downgrading to the previous SE version (1.5.97) and keep using SKSE and any other mod made for said version. Instructions for this are everywhere, easiest way IMO is using the unofficial downgrade patcher (available on nexusmods for Skyrim SE).

If I understand things right your current issue with FNIS appears when you try to install it with MO and it says something about not valid data? If that's the case the fix is simple, it's explained near step 5 on my guide with some example images. Any relatively recent video guide explaining how to install and use FNIS with MO (there are plenty) will also explain how to deal with that. And the same applies for nearly any tool requiring some additional steps to use with MO: Bodyslide, xEdit, lodgen, dyndolod, etc. So you can rely on video for the most part.

Oh damn, it's tricky ><. I didn't think that it was also a free update of the game, and i installed it anew only two or three days ago, so this is probably the origin of the problem. I found the unofficial downgrad patcher, so i'll try that !

I also started to read the guide to use MO ; finally, by going through it bit by bit rather than read all of this in one go, it's totally fine. And the guide is pretty clear, so in a few days, i'll probably make my way through all the steps. It's really a lot more easier to read than the other guides i remembered.

Thanks again for you answers ! It's really helpful, i think i'm close to resolve the problem. Knowing that it must come from an unwanted update, that it's possible to avoide them in the future, and with a guide to install MO and use other tools correctly, all should be fine ^^.

Yup ! Just wanted to say, if someone has the same problem and find this topic when searching a solution (because this is usually what i do) : my problem was indeed that i had Skyrim AE installed, the downgrade patcher worked good, and the guide in Just Don't signature is really helpful to install MO and use other tool in the good way. (for example, if you have a problem with mod manager saying "the content of data does not look valid" when you want to install a mod, they're is a really simple explanation about how to fix it)
