Please i beg of you i need urgent help with this matter.

Its been so long, too long, ive suffered from asymetrical head wich annoys me every single time i play the game, ive sculpted for hours and hours with no end trying to make everything look nice, but theres no symetry option, and the tools in racemenu are so limited its impossible.

So after spending days trying to sculpt and fix things like eyes( i swear if i spend a single more minute trying to sculpt the eyes im gonna go insane) to no avail.

thats when i tried blender, but the process is so unintuitive and so buggy, installed addons for nifs etc, but wont let me export or theres no textures, wont let me export due to some shader errors i dont know how to fix, maybe it gets exported but theres no textures and problems on top of problems that go way over my head, then nifskope also has a lot of errors trying to import obj. files, etc..., it seems literally impossible.

So im begging anyone that has good knowledge of 3d editing software to please, please make this head symetrical( LEFT SIDE of the face to be the same as the RIGHT side of the face, please dont do it the other way >.<.

it would mean so much to me since ive had this problem for well over 2 years and would make me so happy if anyone was kind enough to help me.

If you need any additional files please do let me know

thanks for your time.

Before one is starting.....the UV map of bodies and heads have to stay compatible with the lightning directions-if not you get some shadow and dark parts of your mesh, where it is NOT WANTED. The process needs a FIPPED UV-texture of the half of the head which is being MIRROR-copied. Later the mesh can be easily pulled to the symmetrically missing half of the new part of the face (I made that with a UUNP-BODY for getting a whole symmetry). As soon you made a copy of the half which should be flipped, try to imagine what happens with the UV-texture directions as well:-)))

Has this file been tested so far in game?-Hard to believe-I can not understand the structure of that nif-file.

What I am interested to know is, did you follow some guide on how to edit the file outside in 3D software? Or did you think of it yourself?

I guess you are using one of the nif/export/import plugins - they are not perfect for blender but the 3DS Max one is perfect.

FBX should work, and retains UV data and weighting.

I didn't even think of what Tara said about the UV being flipped, that's a good point unless you want one side of face to be totally in shadow.

OK...

I know this is not the answer you want, but you said you have been struggling for two years, you said you are not happy with Racemenu...

Give ECE a go?

I'm not sure if you can convert you character's heads from RM to ECE though. I know there is a fairly easy way to go from ECE to RM though.

i got absolutely no idea what you are talking about at all, all this technical things go way over my head im sorry

First thing, Does removing racemenu and installing ECE not mess up things a lot? im worried my game will get screwed, also, does ece have a symetrize option? ive used the sculp mode so much that modifying sliders ends up very weird. i have yet to try 3ds max but with all the technicality regarding all of that uv stuff and textures,etc.. it will probably be useless since its too hard for me , i got no idea how to do any of that and the tutorials ive seen dont help either, ill give it a try tho at the very least. Do you think if i offered 5euros someone would symetrize it for me?.

Btw i love your animations ^^.

But you need a PLAN before you invest your time....some stuff can not being realized only by try and error. Slowly your working/creation-skills will decrease with your growing experiences all together. If you do stuf becoming working step-by step and if you understand how things work in game together (and if you have a nice help of a scripter perhaps), you then can do lot of very CUTE stuff.

I would let the head how it is now because it is looking FINE, specially if it is not symmetrically. You can experiment with the head and cut it into the middle and create a copy of the one side, then mirror it and think about what is happening to the UV-map then. For creating UV-maps for skyrim, you have to use suiting plugins for the 3d-software or you use a special UV-mp-creation tool, which adds the mesh surface, which comes from ZBRUSH (high detailed-sculpted skin surface) and a mesh, which comes from your model. Anyway has the normal-map being WRITTEN int the correct directions for skyrim, if not, you will not being able to use your creation in skyrim.

More detailed background you will find here:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32084/?tab=files

And then you one day will find x-normal:

https://xnormal.net/

Anyway....you can FLIP also the UV-map particulary and bring it manually back to the suiting UV-map location, so to have exactly a symmetrically head with a working NORMAL-texture for skyrim.....I am sure you can also MIRROR-meshes in BLENDER as well.

Remember at least that your HEAD is depending on SCULPTING features in RACE-menu or ECE...maybe. You also will loose the HALF of those parameters so far I can imaging-that ´s a second PROBLEM IF YOU go the way of mirroring such body-parts. There are PLUG-INS for 3dsmax which allow (scripts) to place verticle-points to their X-axis´s symmetry. That´s maybe a more easy way to do that job-maybe more easy.

So, the faces will look different when you load it with ECE cause it's all different sliders and things. I know there is an easy way to convert ECE heads to RM, I've done it. I'll check if ECE has symmetrize.

There is mirror edit which is obviously not the same as symmetrize, no. I think you have to do it in blender. I can see if I can, but not tonight cause I am finishing off some animations.

I did try blender but there where so many problems that i gave up, i would absolutely adore you if you could help me out only if you have time ofc.

I present you a half-now you add the mirror copy to it....and then you go into the UV-work then:-)

In what software are we talking about? i tried blender, but i cant export the nif due to some shader error it says, tried to export as obj wich worked but the mesh looked weird and couldnt import it on nifskope also had no textures or anything plus a bunch other errors that i was getting when trying to modify it. i do have the nif plugin.

And here ´s the sym. mesh....MESH !!!

But with TWO halfs, as you now have to add the UV-maps and FLIP one suiting onto the old direction. At the moment both UV´s are using the same area which is not working as bespoken.

The Normal-Map of the object 2 now has to be layed onto the mirror side of the UV-map to get the symmetry of the UV back again.

Thank you so much you are really making me so happy, i dont really know how to do any of the things you said but im going to investigate and see if i can figure it out to at least work decently, just one question tho, the eyes are also symetrical or i have to do the same process for them? i was sculpting them individually in racemenu since they were asymetrical, are those included on the head nif or is there another file i need to edit to make the eyes symetrical?

As far I see now is your problem maybe also caused because the skyrim ´s head texture-map is not symmetrical at all:

I try to modify the second half a little for you....

You are honestly a godsend.

So if i want to implement it, i just go to nifskope and replace the femaheadnord nitrishape with the nif you sent me correct? and the eyes would also be symetrical or its only the femaleheadnord nitrishape with the asymetrical eyes on top of it? im having a hard time trying to understand im im doing the best i can im sorry if i seem a little hysteric >.<, ive had this problem for a long long time and seeing it might get resolved has me quite nervous haha.

No-my work you only can use for a new race and apart of race-menu.  So far I have the overview.

So how do i exactly implement this one my game? im trying to use the nif you sent me and replacing the femaleheadnord nitrishape but its giving me errors, i believe the nif i sent in the op had the eyes,mouth,etc.. aswell, also when i try to paste over the nif the head dissapears and if i try to save it, it gaves me error: "link '2' points to wrong block type"

You maybe need to weight the existing head with this new one....it has to become weighted. With same bones like the other head.

My skills do stop here as I never created different new heads-if I am maybe little further in time/future, I maybe can help you again. Later I will also try to add a fully new playable body with a new skeleton/suiting skeleton into skyrim.

Amyway are some people creating new RACES-and this is a chance for your creation, too:-))

alright, i might not have the symetrical head just like i wanted yet, but got much closer to it and its all thanks to you, im very grateful for all the help you have brought me. Thanks for all your work, sincerely.

i hope good things happen to you ^^
