Finding Playable Sims

OK, so if this isn't in the right spot/place then my humble apologies...

I'm trying to find playable sims (both genders, for all sexual orientations) for my lonely (and horny) sims of all ages. Been looking but haven't found really too much, unless I'm looking in the wrong spots. Any really good ones out there??

You should be looking in here: https://www.loverslab.com/forum/438-downloads-cas-sims/

This forum should have what you are looking for, The Sims 4 section. Enjoy.

It's also quite easy to make your own or edit your existing Sims/Townies once you've collected some CC like Makeup, Jewelry, Shoes, Hairstyles, etc.

All your doing is replacing EA's junk to use better looking CC.

Practice a bit and/or examine the sims you downloaded in CAS to see what's been done to them.

It's rather fun to make your own creations too.

Think I have over 200 sims saved now but it took a long time to get there.

Then save them to Gallery/Library when finished so you'll have them to use in other saves.

Once you have a bunch of them saved you can set MCCC to import them from your Library rather than the game generating more random uglies.

With MCCC installed and FullCASedit cheat enabled all you have to do is click on any sim and use the MC edit household to take them into CAS mode.

Or just the random button. I'm starting to have fun using that for the base Sim and then like @Scorpio said, then use CC to tweak them from there.

Otherwise there are plenty that people here are sharing.

The main thing about downloading Custom Sims is not just dumping all the included CC into your Mods folder without organizing them into each category folder.

Same thing for downloading separate CC content from elsewhere.

Installing all your Makeup into a folder named Makeup will lessen the chances of having duplicates as many Custom Sim Downloads use some of the same CC for many sims.

The other problem might come from having two different CC versions with different file names by the same author which are also duplicates but not so easy to find unless looking closer at all the files in a category folder to spot them.

You might also get facial or body sliders that use the same slots but from 2 or 3 different authors which is a problem I had myself.

These can cause invisible tops or bottoms on sims.

Then we have some that include different default body parts, Eyes, or Skins and you can only have one default installed at a time or you get problems.

New Mod users downloading Custom Sims with included CC often know nothing about using them and get into trouble later on.

It's just a shame they have to go through it all to learn the hard way as there is no way to prevent it.

A lot of the new sims I create start out randomized. Quite often you'll get fuglies but there's always that one that will strike you and make you want to develop them further.

Plus with the right CC, any fugly can be made pretty with just a little manipulation.

Another thing I like to do is take some of my favorite sims, pair them up and use the genetics function. I usually have pretty good success with that.

As for the people here sharing - I wouldn't ever advise it to anyone new to modding for all of the reasons @Scorpio mentioned.

That's a modding catastrophe just waiting to happen. And quite often does.

I'm sure you've seen how many people just dump everything into their Mods folder.

Honestly, I'm with both you and @Scorpio on this case. I don't use downloaded Sims at all. There isn't one downloaded Sim or lot in my game that has come from someone else. I get CC from others and I test it before it becomes something that stays and makes my "cut". I make my own Sims and lots for better or worse, because I don't want someone elses screwed up mod folder shit screwing up my mod folder.

@GreyMouse, @Scorpio, @BatDood, I agree with you, that @Rikerbabe might enjoy things more by using the tools you mention. Although, when looking at the Sims4 downloads, and how many people will just grab what someone else made for them, I have often thought to get TS4, a Patreon account, make a bunch of Sims and sell them. It really seems to be a totally different mindset with many TS4 players (perhaps not you), and love of premades, as opposed to TS3 and collecting CC and making Sims yourself.

Even in TS3, Nraas Master Controller has randomize genetics, or use a couple of Sims in game as genetics donors, and roll the dice. Same with their clothing, hair, accessories... Dresser can just reroll what they're wearing, then take to CAS and "tweak" them a bit.

Yes the mindset, or trend, is different these days as people either don't have the time or they are too impatient and just want everything NOW.

Has much to do with age also as I'm an old school gamer that's played most everything so I'm more of a do-it-yourself person anyway.

But I have downloaded a few Custom Sims from elsewhere long ago although I only picked those with a unique facial construction/appearance and no other typical looking sims as I can do those myself.

And I still had to go through all the CC included and remove some defaults and few other things.

Seems to be what many others are doing, lol.
