binguser Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 I was just wondering if anyone has thought of making a LL mod manager/downloader? The reason I ask is that some games like rimworld make it difficult to find the right file, mainly cause people only tag the mod ver, and not the game ver. If we had a mod manager like Vortex we'd be able to fix that to a degree, and it would streamline mod downloads and installations cause it'd all go through one spot.

Grey Cloud Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Option 1: Some one out there starts writing a mod manager today. In maybe 12 months time it is ready for beta testing. Option 2: You get off your arse and try to learn how to mod Rimworld. Option 3: You at least learn what a mod manager can and cannot do.

By comparing the values in the mod with what's in the game, like say for example part of the code in a game that mods reference is 0001110, and the mod references a different value, it knows the mod isn't made for that version of the game, it would be tricky to implement with the number of things that would need to be referenced, but I think it's doable

Rimworld mods are downloadable from directly from Nexus so the issue is with individual mods and therefore down to the individual author. This is who you should be writing to.
