TakumiiSakura Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Hej!? I've got a problem, I've got every Sims 3 expansion/acc pack. But somehow EA didn't created folders for the expansions I've bought via Origin etc. It only created the folders for the packs I've installed via CD. Now, I want the Smartphone from University since I want to create a 'steaming' animation but I can't get the smartphone since there's no University folder! Could someone pls send me the smartphone acc?
landess Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 I'm not sure you have a S3OC issue as much as you have an EA compatibility issue. I know way back when I had a problem with my Mass Effect 3, I was able to 'register' the Disk version with Origin and it allowed me to install the Origin version. While I avoid Origin like the plague, it may be possible for you to do the same thing and 'register' the disk versions you have and then download/install the Origin versions of everything so they play nice together. When I was completing my Sims 3 EP collection, I had made a purchase at a store which turned out to be a prepaid digital download authorization instead of a stand alone disk. Needless to say I just tossed it in the trash and told myself to pay closer attention. I finally had to use EBAY to finish my collection and never thought twice about trying to mix my physical disk versions with the Origin crap. Because the post title brings up S3OC, I thought I'd link this older post for others interested in the program. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/56477-sims3guide-edit-cc-flags-with-s3oc-custom-underwear-okw-and-more/?do=findComment&comment=1429626
TakumiiSakura Posted October 22, 2021 Author Posted October 22, 2021 Unfortunately, It's not really helpful with my problem. I really think that it's a compatibility issue like u already said. The thing is, that I don't even have a physical version of University Life/Pets and Island Paradise?

The link was mainly for others. As for the digital vs physical media - if you are already using Origin and plan to continue, is it possible to register all the physical disks/serial #'s with Origin to be able to download those versions as digital, so everything is the same? Just a suggestion . . . . .
Nonsequitur Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 S3OC will clone most anything you have in your "official" Sims 3 collection Library or Mods folder if properly set up. If you don't have an EP or Sp installed - it won't find it. A way around it is install a bootleg in the same folder even though not recognized by the game. so - if you have room, you can COPY your EA sims 3 folders to the Origin folder and see if they are found by the software, As for TSRW - it needs each EP & Sp to be linked to its location directly in preferences. It looks only at the folder you tell it to. Since you will be making a new animation - any base game object created as your phone would be fair game, since the phone "magically appears" when needed - wouldn't matter for other phone menu items clicked from the body. You will need to either mod the original Host object to add your bubble menu item (problematic since if you can't play that EP or SP the animation and object won't be there anyway). Or make a stand alone using a base-game donner for the phone object and all your animation sequence's with its own body-menu. This will be stand alone... animated, base-game item. Another thing to try is to point TSRW and S3OC to the Origin folders or the Electronic Arts folder folders in x86 - in preferences for each.
