SmedleyDButler Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 So I was trying to edit a Normal map earlier today (mixed success - normalized without artifacts, but somehow the directional information was messed up... but that's another question) Went back to editing diffuse maps. Boring old colour. But now whenever I save a diffuse map, it comes out like this: What in the hell did I do? I didn't change very many settings when I was playing with normal maps, so I went back and tried various things but I've tried just about everything in the Normal map tab as well as the Image Options tab and I'm always seeing some variation on this in the saved result.
27X Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 That word on the bottom left is the one you want to change.
SmedleyDButler Posted October 7, 2021 Author Posted October 7, 2021 Ah, figured it out! You have to change the Alternate Conversions setting back to "colourspace" in the Normal Maps Settings tab, when you're done playing with normal maps. Which I did. Or I thought I did... but I had misclicked apparently, so it was still on normalize. Crisis averted, lol. ? Might as well ask that question about normal maps then... off to another thread...

Oh, this wasn't a normal map, it was just a diffuse. The problem in this case was that my PS plugin had a hangover from me fucking around with normal maps.
