Route to spice?

Hello,

coming from the Sims section of LoversLab.
Now starting with Skyrim. Seems like there are lot of similarities between Adult Skyrim and Adult Sims.
From what I see, there is not only "the One" Framework I could use and everyone use, there is more.
And over the years you guys have made a decent collection of mods.

The Problem is: I just googled how to install Mods for Skyrim and have NO Idea what I need.
Is a Posting or a list of the latest and best "must have" mods somewhere? (Forum search showed me just one and thats from 2017).
Or is there a "Loverslab Collection" Modpack or something?

Hi, thank you for the answer.

I am pretty sure I am playing the old one. Brought in 2014. Didnt know that there is another version.

There are 3 by now. Oldrim, SE and VR. And they don't play nice with each other.  Basically the first thing you should get is a mod manager, for a start I suggest Vortex, because it is easier to handle than MO for a beginner. When it comes to mods for LE (Oldrim) I'm not up to date.

Honestly - starting with adult content is a poor idea.

Follow a guide from nexus (of wich there are many) for basics, then, when you got basics in - return to LL.

On game versions - if there is a choice id go for SE. Easier to use, some nice new features. I wouldnt use steam installation if there is a choice either.

Lastly - mod manager - you need one, its not optional. Choice is: Vortex - easiest to use, also shittiest. NMM community version - dated and it shows, but works, middle option. Mod Organizer - best among them, but least user friendly. You call really, but be mindfull - migrating builds between them is not a thing. So if you decide to switch later - its start over.

Oh, and if you dont have DLCs for oldrim - you kinda need em. Version even refered to as LE for legendary edition. There arent many mods that support versions below that.

If you bought it through steam, it'll say in your library, for example, Skyrim, or Skyrim special edition, if that's what you have.

My signature has a few LE guides/flow charts-need to zoom in to read them properly sorry. But the utilities one might be of use in making sure you have the kind of things that lots of mods rely on.

Skyrim STEP is a good guide for modding Skyrim generally.

Remember to run FBI's everyone you install new animations; if you get a t-pose from your characters, then you forgot.

Take it slow-if you o stall a bundle of mods on one go, it's far more difficult to troubleshoot. You may have already found that from your Sims modding experience. ?

Good luck!

There's a new guide to modding skyrim in the technical support, might help you https://www.loverslab.com/topic/176696-the-skyrim-le-tesvle-modding-cheatbook-guide-sep21/. Let me know if it helps or you need more help.
