So it's my first time modding, i have extracted the wrong version of SexLabs in the data folder so now FNIS and Vortex has issues with it, how do i remove all 1206 incompatible animations and get rid of code 193? Characters and models are all still T-posing and Frozen

Uninstall Skyrim, delete the leftover folder, download it again. Look into using a mod manager next time, I recommend Mod Organizer 2.

Uh-oh, I'd better not ask how you did that. Are you using a mod manager? If not, now's the time to do it, because in this case you'd just had to do one simple click on "uninstall" (or even just "disable") and 99% of your problems would have been gone.

Go to the Data/meshes/actors folder. There is a plethora of sub-folders, these have "behaviors" sub-folders. Delete those and try again.

I'm using vortex but it seems like if it's not on nexus or supported by it i need to do it manually

For installing mods from locally stored mod archives in Vortex, it's really pretty easy. Just hit the "Install From File" button in the mods tab top bar menu. It's the first one on the left.

Everything else is just like during a "vortex" download/install. the only thing different is that instead of Vortex automatically downloading the mod, you do that part manually

As anjenthedog said, with Vortex you're on the safe side. In the "mods" window is a field in the bottom where you can drag and drop the mod files from your Downloads folder. Drop it, install, enable, deploy - done. Same when you've messed up something, just in the opposite direction.

Additionally to Sexlab and FNIS you need to have the SLAL - Sexlab Animation Loader, to actually make the animations available ingame.

I forgot to note one other small difference. Vortex will not track any mods installed from local sources (since it's not designed to link/track to external resources aside from the Nexus)

I shrug to that caveat. If I chose to manually download a file, be it from outside nexus or inside, I have to install locally.

You can drag-n-drop, but I'd recommend just doing it the old fashioned way if you're at all confused or unsure.

  1. click the button
  2. navigate to the folder where you downloaded the archive
  3. select the archive file
  4. hit ok
