Papitas Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 View File Delete Orphan Save Files Actually deletes all files with no associated save file. Free many hundreds of MB by just double-clicking a file. Usage This is a quite simple program I made for myself and doesn't require any kind of configuration or sorcery. Just put it in the folder where all your saves are located and double click to run it. Do that each time you want to delete junk files that are not longer needed but still manage to be creeping around there. It will tell you which files it deleted and how much disk space it freed. Files are outright deleted, not sent to the trash bin. It's not like you are ever using them again, but beware about this fact. I'm aware this is something SSE Engine Fixes is supposed to do, but has never seemed to work for me (yeah, I actually activated that option in the *.toml file). Does this work for LE? Most likely. I suppose orphaned files have the same extensions as the SE ones. Submitter Papitas Submitted 09/14/2021 Category Regular Mods Requires Regular Edition Compatible Yes 2
murfk Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 This pings my virus scanner as a trojan horse.
Papitas Posted September 17, 2021 Author Posted September 17, 2021 What the hell? I even refrained myself from compressing the executable precisely to avoid those kind false flags. I'm not in my computer, so I'll later search for and post the source code so anyone can build it using Lazarus IDE.

You just open the project in Lazarus, hit F9 and now you are 100% sure it's virus free. If you or anyone wants to modify the program and upload it or something, by all means, do it. It took me around 30 minutes to make, so it's not like put that much of an effort into it :P

Since you're obviously not nefarious, you should probably check your system, in case the file was infected because your computer is infected. 1

It's honestly lacking behind his younger cousin, C# (at least we now have inline variable declarations and anonymous functions, even though the syntax is terrible). But I just can't leave Delphi xD. It's still the language I program faster for 3 minutes ago, murfk said: Since you're obviously not nefarious, you should probably check your system, in case the file was infected because your computer is infected. Yep. That was my first thought when you told me the antivirus marks my program as a trojan :S

forotherstuff32 Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Hey just a quick question. Is this different from the skyrim save cleaner program like FalrimTools? Thanks.

This program deletes files that are no longer needed and are just wasting hard disk space (this is a kind of hard disk cleaner). On the other hand, Falrim Tools modify files so they don't carry nonsensical values that can make your game unstable. Two totally different functions, as you can see. 1
