Game freezes in caves

I have the problem that a lot of caves, when I enter them, my game freezes.

I can still hear the ingame sound in the cave and from my character, but the screen stays black and I can't move.

The problem only exists with caves and not with all of them. I can enter cities and buildings without any problems.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

With this load order it hard to tell. A good start is to look which caves are freezing and what is in them. This might reduce the mods you have to look at.

The only mods I can think of that affect caves are Skyrim Underground and the texture mod Skyrim 2020.
Skyrim Underground was not the problem, I have already uninstalled and tried again, unfortunately without success.
All meshes and textures I have checked with Cathedral_Assets_Optimizer whether there are optiemirungen for SE, but there was also nothing.

The meshes don't seem to be the problem. If there is something wrong with them you usually CTD and don't freeze. That's why I am asking for the kind of cave you can't enter. you have to look what is in there and check which mods might have an influence on that. If there are bandits, check the bandits. If it is falmers, check the falmers. 

This is better than removing all mods, go to one cave and reinstall them one-by-one to see where the trouble begins....

 

It might be a simple load order problem or two mod doing opposite things at the same time (like adding and removing the same things)

The problem happened yesterday while playing 3 out of 5 caves I wanted to enter.

And those you can get into? I didn't find infos on the wind caller pass, but one is with trolls the other with falmers and Dwemer machines. Do you have mods that alter the ore mines?

In the ones I entered there were only bandits.

I don't know that I have any mods installed that change ore mines other than textures and meshes.

 

Could this be due to mods like More Nasty Critters and Animated Beast's Cocks?

Usually not, they cause crashes if something is wrong. But they might be conflicts with one of the add-on's you have installed. Since you have a lot of mods installed, that change the cells, it could also be, that one of them causes this.

And I thought the Bashed patch would be good for resolving cell conflicts. The question now is which addon is responsible for this.

good question... The only thing that I can exclude is a defective mesh...

 

It might be a lightning effect...

It might be a script loop... 

You have so many mods installed, that it is hard to tell.

the log does not point anywhere may be some mods not in the correct load order or the mods did not load yet at the moment of the log .

 

i do not know if it is relevant DynDOLOD may create some issue !!!      do you have enb installed ? ( some presets can cause issue ) .

 

a possible over limit mods count ( just uncheck some mods to be under the 250 and to see if it does anything ) .

 

bashed patch may have some issu : remove it completely and redo it clean .

 

hope it will helps ( even if i am not convinced ) .

Do not know if DynDOLOD has something to do with it, because there are problems only in certain caves.

According to my modmanager I have just 167 active mods even though I have well over 250 due to the fact that I have many light ESPs installed.

Well, one more thing you could try is checking which mods have an impact on the troublemakers by checking your mods in TESEdit and see which one has an effect on the cells. but that a lot of work.

For example, when I look at GraywinterWatch01 in SSEEdit, I get the following mods displayed that include the Celle, modified.

Graywinter Watch is a vanilla cave but North Windcaller Pass is not (from Legacy of Dragonborn mod).

 

So a vanilla cave depending on that mod and you have same problem in both caves.

 

Could be a possible cause but hard to debug with so many mods and no CTD.

I checked the two vanilla caves White River Watch and Hillgrund's Tomb with SSEEdit I was in and de games was not frozen.

These caves are also used by the mods Unoffical SSE Patch, Lagacy of the Dragonborn, Babao Followers and Lux. But only Lux changes something in the Celle.

Whereas with the caves where the game freezes each of these mods adds a change.

It will not be the USSEP...  Try it with different combinations of the other 3  mods and see what happens... there and in the other caves where you freeze...

Is it better to uninstall the mods or just disable them?

 

The problem with trying out Lagecy of the Dragonborn is that I also have to disable DynDolod, which results in me getting an in-game message that the save game is corrupted and therefore can't be loaded.

For a clean version you have to uninstall them and then clean the save. Look for Fallrim tools. Make two saves, so you have one to work with and one as back up. For a real test you have to start a new game.

Partly I seem to have found the problem, if I uninstall my light mod Lux I can at least enter the vanilla caves again.
North Windcaller Pass the problem persists.
The only question is, how do I fix it now?

So if it is really 'your' lightning mod, you will have to go back to the drawing board.... But in this case you know the internals and can compare them with the other mods to see whats going wrong.  If it is the lightning mod you prefer, check if there are any updates or patches or if the problem is already addressed in the forums. 

For the Windcaller pass, check again if the save is really clean... It might not be clean enough. Or (This sometimes happens) you might need a patch for the USSEP (Modders should add it as a dependency or write a patch for it if they are dealing with the included stuff)

Since the problem seems to come from Lightning, it is also a good idea to check conflicts with the lantern and/or lightning mods you have installed. It might be dark, because they turn off the light as soon as you enter a dark place. Have you ever tried to equip a torch?

I have installed the latest version of Lux including the included patches before the problem occurred.
I have searched the comments for the problem and also posted my own comment and am now waiting for an answer.

I created a new save game and then cleaned it, but that did not help.

Lux already has USSEP as a requirement.

I don't quite know what you're trying to tell me. But I entered the cave once with a equipped torch for test purposes, but that doesn't change anything.

The only mod I have installed to my knowledge that affects torches is Smoking Torches and Candles.
